To me, co-op means working toward the same objective. When I did let how other people played affect me, I had far less fun because I was too busy caring about them. That said, the only thing that makes my game boring is when people who clearly play gold or platinum come to silver and clean house. I don't mind it other than it is boring and not a challenge or even feels like I'm playing. Everything else is easily ignored as I focus on my game and having fun. If I let what everyone else was doing concern me, I'd be miserable. I choose to be happy and therefore I am.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all about having fun, and usually I don't pay much attention to pugs when I play. But there are times when they do stupid things you just can't ignore. Those escorts and hacks don't do themselves, and I'm not ass enough to ignore them.

Ah, yes that. Those can get your attention. In those cases, I just run off and do ones that I can. I seem to always end up on teams that are good with them. I geneally get a few, but others contribute. I did have a team where one person NEVER did the objectives. They were playing with a friend who had almost the same ID as them. And this person was doing crazy speedruns and ignored the objectives. But I was leveling up so I just decided to be happy because the faster they did their speedruns and killed everything, the quicker I leveled up. I played objectives and medic and killed what I could. That person carried it but by very deliberate choice. And then he/she got sync killed by an atlas after trying to melee it to death. That was truly one of the better moments. There was a cloud of dust. I was firing at the atlas. Said player was beating on it. Then the smoke cleared and I see their pink glowing body hanging from the atlas' fist. I laughed. Couldn't help it. Too damn funny. Then I remember my rockets and was too late. But I did get the points for the kill.

The people who feel they are being blinded all the time needs to calibrate their monitor. I have I have only had problem with flamers a few times and that is when I stand directly in the flames, facing the same spot the flamer is targeting.

No.

Me who thought all TVs also had calibration tools build in. Well if you say so no, then it's a no. :P I really don't see the problem with flamers, it's the same thing as people complaining about HM and Rage. If anyone have turned up their contrast too far to get some cheap black, or whatever reason, it's not the games problem. And the only time HM and Rage can be a real problem is in the snow storm on Firebase White at some points. For other that don't want to calibrate there monitor can always use the build in "brightness" in Mass Effect.

By the way, I have the normal HM overlay and I run every single character without grenades with either HM or the scanner. No problems for me :P

Any and all Platinum curries will be welcome!

(I suddenly feel like having chicken vindaloo...)

Are you mentioning vindaloo because you said "curries" or because we're talking about Flamer?  About 12 hours after I eat vindaloo, I am usually spamming Flamer with a 15-minute cooldown.

It worked on a few levels... I'll just pretend they were all intentional! ;D

A lot of people spend a lot of time worrying about what someone else is doing.

I was in a gold match tonight with a pair of Vorcha flamers who just flamed the ass out of everything that came close to them. They routinely flamed all the things and I responded by routinely setting off the fire explosions they unwittingly primed. They made for fine bullet-stoppers.

At no point was I capable of giving a single or multiple sh** about what they were doing. I dunno if they had fun in that match, because they died left and right. But I had fun.

This! A thousand times this.

I don't care what other people do in my matches. I'm there to have fun for me and if I'm concerned about what another person does then I'm probably not. Couldn't realy tell you much of what most of the people I play with do. Might be able to remember certain players characters. But what they did? Nope. I was too busy doing my thing and having fun doing it.

It's a co-op game and you're not concerned about what other players are doing? If that's how you have fun, by all means. But from my experience the other players do affect how I play the game and how much fun I'm having with it. Especially when they actively prevent me from doing my thing and having fun doing it.

That said, flamer spammers generally don't prevent me from doing my thing, so I have no problem with them.

I can't speak for Starlitegirlx, but I like to be able to go into a match and perform consistently well, regardless of the character I'm using, and regardless of the inventories and skill level of other players. This means I don't care what characters they take, or what they do in a given match. If I see an easy opportunity for teamwork, I'll take it, and if I can revive someone without getting killed, I'll do it. But otherwise, they can flame all the things and Shockwave all the things and Acolyte all the things, and it won't affect me one way or the other.

Over the past two weeks, I've encountered more and more new players in U/U/G who were simply unprepared for Gold. I mean guys going in with no consumables or gear; guys with low level Uncommons. I've tried getting my friends to get more comfortable in Gold matches, but they're more interested in grinding CP. When they're interested in ME3 at all, that is.

I used to avoid PUG Golds like the plague, but nowadays, I just don't care, because I simply want to play. And I don't want my level of fun to be dependent on what someone else in the match is or is not doing.

Everyone reacts to light differently. Just because you aren't impacted doesn't mean others aren't.

Those Shockwaves and Flamers will affect you when they stand behind you while spamming them. Something that's hard to avoid during certain objectives.

I never said my level of fun depends on what others are doing, but it'd be a lie if I said it wasn't affected by them. When you get devices on Jade or Hydra, it doesn't matter how good you are, bad pugs can royally f*** up the game for you.

Not to the extent where I give a sh**.

In the past couple of weeks, in all the public gold matches I've played, the overwhelming majority of players have been new to the game. And I mean so new that they're unprepared. Back in the day, I wouldn't play Gold or Plat unless it was with friends. But now, it so rare to drop into a lobby that isn't filled with unprepared players that I basically just have to say "f**k it" if I want to play Gold.

So yeah, I'm at the point where nothing anybody else does causes me to care. I just try to have fun and do the best I can do.

And I mean...y'know, you can always avoid being near players spamming disruptive powers. But like I said, I made it work for me last night by setting off all the fire explosions these guys were priming. Worked for the team overall. Wasn't any skin off my nose.

Probably one of the better attitudes I've seen toward the current state of ME3 affairs. Bravo.

Nope, I can't. Not without being an ass, which I'm not. Some objectives bring the team to the same spot on the map. You keep ignoring this.

Well, the poo would have been real. But as it turns out, there was a Vorcha spamming his flamer on the toilet when I arrived, and he simply would not move. It was just getting all over the place.

He kept screaming out weird stuff like, "STRONGEST!" and "I'M ALIVE!" But the worst was when this Geth Trooper walked in, unzipped and said, "PRIME UNIT."

At that point, I decided Aedolon was probably right about certain Objectives.
