Personally I'd still prefer if the bonus was something that's useful for every kit (though not necessarily for every build), i.e. whether or not they have biotics. An Asari could for example boost everyone's power recharge speed or grant a small resistance to biotic attacks.

Good point. I don't think it would be too difficult to add a few options to chose from. Using millahnna's idea as a template you could add multiple evolutions with different team bonuses (like power recharge speed, (biotic) damage, shield regen, health etc etc). Something like that would definitely increase not only individual build options but also team compositions. I like it!

Also you could have several smaller bonuses at the same time, so you'd get at least some benefit even if not all of it. Might not make a huge difference in-game, but it all adds up.

But we still need Adjutant Rampages in random waves.

Sorry, but not a good idea, Chealec.

That would make it much harder to find a game in the first place. It's the same problem as with having lots of game modes, they divide the player base into much smaller fractions.

True - but it'd work in private games *shrugs*
It could even be an option for private games only - hell, throw in Husk Mode as a private game option as well! :D

Now there's something I can totally support!

Yeah, I really hope we get a ton of options to create our own private games. Husk Mode is awesome!

It can be abused for easy credits though. I hope BW gives us the option to experiment with private games that don't give credits so the RNG extremists won't go berserk and pull the plug.

I kind of thought about this the other day while playing Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Neat idea but would probably cause more problems when pugging.

Good team composition should be rewarded with synergy between abilies, not arbitrary stat bonuses. As stated, all this does is create a toxic pug environment where you conform or get kicked.

Maybe instead of only giving bonuses when the team composition is similar, give everyone a small bonus depending on an individual's character. Like... a turian soldier could give a 5% accuracy and damage boost & a krogan can give the team a 5% health and shield boost or DR boost.

Lol a team of 4 krogan vanguards would be invincible.

I don't think performance differences would be a good idea, but what about aesthetic differences? Like the narrator is replaced with an asari voice for an all-asari team and calls you commandos. And the objectives can vary, like the krogan or turian backpacks would be retrieving weapons whereas geth or salarians would retrieve hard drives. Or like if you have a geth/quarian mix, and only the quarian players extract, the narrator says, "Hey, you can't just leave the geth to die because they're synthetics!" or something like that.

Team synergy already trivializes the game enough

I actually had a thread about this months ago, and I gotta say that I disagree with the idea of encouraging other players to play kits they don't want to play...

I like the idea, i also think they should have had weapon bonuses for all the weapons not just collector or geth. Asari made weapon? Damage bonus for asari etc.

Lol, what team synergy? You have power A and I have power C, so by our powers combined we can create Captain Explosion?

The problem is you are basically penalized for not wanting to play a theme game.

A good point.  That may end up with elitists insta-kicking Drell because they want the Turian boost...

This ^^^^^^

Because, as we all know, that trio of Harrier TGIs desperately needs that 5% weapon damage boost!^_^

Synergy is indeed key to increase the value of working together. However, those "arbitrary stat bonuses" accomplish the same thing (to a lesser extend though). I think the idea that player A gets (slightly) stronger (at something) when teamed up with player B isn't bad at all.

Is it the same to use disruptor rounds as it is to use the Acolyte?

Namecalling doesn't get you very far in life. If you didn't get it you could havr just said, "I don't see the connection" in which case I would have explained it.

Trying to be a smart ass when you have no clue what the hell you are talking about isn't advisable either.

I'm still unsure whether or not you think you are intelligent (which, based on your posts, you are clearly not) or simply like to troll. Perhaps you should try to add something constructive to a discussion for a change or is that too complicated?

Is that the same as using an Arc Pistol, Adas, or a Reeger Carbine with disrupter rounds?

The difference is that disruper rounds are a generic stat bonus which increases damage to shields. The Acolyte also does (comparatively) higher damage to shields, but is funtionally unique. No matter what gun you use DR on, it will always be more or less the same. Using the Acolyte however is not like using any other weapon.

Stat bonuses just increase numbers, not how you play the game.
