I am going to double check drivers and such, but I was hoping to finish this playthrough before ME2 comes and I am consumed. =(

I have tried:
1) Uninstalling the game and reinstalling it with only dlc but without Patch 1.02 the game still crashes !!!
2) Uninstalling the game and reinstallling it with no DLC (forced saved games to run) and without patch and the game still crashes !!
3) Reinstalling SO (!!!!) reinstalling the game, reimporting saved games which I backed up and both with version 1.0.0 and 1.0.2 the game still crashes !!
PS.. I tried both Vista and Windows7 and the game crashes anyway !!
4) I managed that saved games could be corrupt so I create new character and started new campaign, after 5 minutes the game crashed !! In an area where the first time I played several days ago I had no problem !!
5) I tried all throubleshooting possible (disabling online entries, forcing the game to use only one core) none of them works
I have no problems with hardware specifics. All drivers are updated (Video Adapter is NVidia GEForce 8600 M GT) and I believe that if I had some incompatibility with the game the problems should not began after a month and after several days I was playing !!!!
I hope in a new patch as soon as possible. Luckily I finished the game despite of crashes and I have my post campaign save for Dragon Age Awakening but I won't play it with continuos game crashing . It's nerve-racking !!!!!!

I just love paying $70x2 (CE PC), (CE PS3) for someting that is collecting dust. Don't even talk to me about (to the Devs) expansions or DLC until this major screw up is fixed. I cancled my ME2 pre orders I'm so disgusted. The final straw was when I eneded up not being able to load up a saved game, since all my LEGIT DLC was found missing, that was on that save game. Thanks but no thanks BIOWARE, I'll play Divinity II and Sacred 2 to get my RPG fix (yes they are buggy, however they do work, you can play them), can't really say that about DO:A in its current state.

Trust me I feel your pain. Before the latest patch I could play the game almost at the highest settings (x4aa instead of x8aa), and now it wont play without crashing every 5 minutes or so, and the framerate is like a slideshow. The worst is when I load old save games in areas that worked fine and they crash almost instantly.
It's the same thing for me too... The worst thing for me is that uninstalling and reinstalling the game without patch and loading old saves I had crashes that during my first playtime I never had
So this means that saves are corrupted or something similar
By the way.. last chanche... Yesterday I made a back up of my saved games that I will load in awakening and formatted my HD. I downgraded my pc from Vista to XP... Reinstalled game + 1.02 + all DLC and today I will try to start a new campaing on a clean game without any other saves or characters
Hope it will work !!!

Since removing the addons (Im not technical enough to do any more than that lol) I've not had a single problem with any of the game, old saves as well as new. And I'm happy enough to drool all over Alistair a little bit more.
I dunno if this post actually helps anyone, I like to think somewhere out there it may lol... but its just something to consider perhaps. I havent downloaded wardens keep yet, so we'll see

I had downloaded some of the free modules around you can get, like the hair addons, the armour texture updated one... etc. I was suffering from severe crashing last week, when I removed the addons, the crashing stopped. So I guess its something to do with the patching, where the files get allocated too, or just perhaps something dodgy in the download in some way. I had the same problem with the memory usage jumping right up. It was about 1,001,120k the last I had noted it...

if that´s the case, id say its not related to what type of mods you have, but more that one actually have any type of mod.. im getting the same bug, and all my mods are all storebought. so, mods + recent patch seems to be the problem. hopefully it will be resolved sometime in the near future. if i encounter the same crash again, ill check if i too get the odd memory-usage.
the.. more annoying part is.. my game just crashed when i was fighting the damn sloth aswell, and everything was going so well too!..

And yup I agree with the modding part. Something must just be unstable within a file I guess.

Not bad but I was thinking that during my first gameplay I never had this kind of problem.. Well.. I never tried to play with low video resolution because I refuse to do this due to my hardware equiment.. It's a shame if I must play to lower resolution with my hardware specs !!!

Zwober - I know how frustrating that is! I was fighting the Broodmother Boss and got through it without a crash... my chars put their weapons away... I hit f5 to save and *poof* there it wentBut thankfully its all sorted now! hehe.

oddly enough tho, i havent encounterd one single crash in the last days of playing. if anything tho, my char dosent seem to update her progress to the web..(and i just bedded lei d*mmit) but, that might just be related to some oddball firewall blocking da:o even tho im telling it not to.. i can live with it, since i atleast dont crash.
now i just have to "wrap" the game together before i get ME2, not to mention that i have to replay ME1 first >.<
good luck with the crashes the rest of you, i seem to have.. fixed myself ?

The bit I don't understand is why its just started when I've changed no settings, I've never used any mods and using 1.02a since its release.
Its very annoying.

I really love the game, but the crashes get old quick. Does anybody have any solutions yet?
