How do you get your nameplate *NOT* added to the wall?

I thought I did a perfect playthrough. I romanced Tali, destroyed the human Reaper in ME2, collected 8000 War Assets, had 98%-100% GRR and thus close to 8000 EMS, shot TIM and chose the destroy option. Okay, so my Shep was 25% Renegade and only 75% Paragon. Was that it?

Anyway, in the final cutscene Tali put my plate up.

I only recently learned that there is an alternative where your LI doesnt put the plate up and instead smiles, looking upward, somehow knowing Shep is alive.

Oh and my Shep breathed in the end, too. So what went wrong? Does anyone have a guide?

Oh and finally, one side question: if you dont romance anybody, who puts the plate up? Joker?

Cheers

You've got the requirements, and it has nothing to do with moral alignment. Not sure what's going on.

If you romance no one, Liara puts the plate on the wall. Either way, this sounds like a bug, OP. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling the ME3 data.

This. If your Shepard breathes, your LI should Smile and not put your name in the wall.

Sounds like a bug. If you get the breath scene you should get the "smile" (quotes because Tali, been there).

Sounds like your game has developed a renegade streak and decided that given so little effort was put into the 'shep lives' version that it'll just skip it all together.

Oh look, someone complaining about the ending in a thread unrelated to ending complaints. This is new and original.

LOL! That's how it's suppose to go! If Shepard lives, your L.I. will not put the plaque on the wall, because, maybe, they believe you're still alive out there... :D Honestly, I <3 Bad endings! Shame on you for 8,000 EMS!

Talimancers don't get a smile. They get an evil glare.

will replay my last save when I find some time, then. Might be that I got confused because I watched many endings on youtube after my playthrough and one of those might have affected my memory. :)

In my playthrough, Garrus held onto the name plate and smiled. My LI was Miranda so, of course, she wasn't there! I'm going with my shepard being rescued and found by Miranda Lawson... alive and happy without the bloody reapers. I'll only choose destroy.

If miranda put up the plate you wouldn't see it because her arse would be in the way.

Problem sounds like a lack of MEHEM

This is when this type of thing gets annoying, iakus. The topic has nothing to do with MEHEM and the OP expressed no dissatisfaction with the current endings. Your post is borderline spam.

My post was perhaps in poor taste, yeah.  Considered erasing it too, but figured it was already out there.  Seemed harmless enough.  Sorry OP.

However, I have seen and been on the receiving end of much much worse and not seen you call anyone on it.  Getting selective in your calling people out, Chrono?

What does you being on the receiving end of stuff have to do with you not staying on topic?

My post was simply in response to teh ME3 ending where for whatever reason, Tali puts SHepard's name on teh memorial wall.  I posted a link where, Tali of course doesn't put the plaque up (being a MEHEM ending and all) so while I admit my post wasn't exactly helpful, it was tangentally on topic.

But yes, I was wrong to post it, I apologised. And also pointed out that ChronoDragon is rather selective in whom he calls people out for posts like that.  Sadly, I couldn't PM him directly as this "social" network doesn't allow that unless we are friends.

But now things really are getting off topic, so I'm bowing out

Hmmm.... I've never seen any evidence that CronoDragoon is selective about calling people out for blatant derails. It's just that most of the derails come from your side.

OTOH, we might as well derail because there's not much here. Either the OP has a glitched install or an inacccurate memory.

I was a little too confrontational and I apologize for that. Even so something harmless can get a bit much when it happens a lot.

However, I have seen and been on the receiving end of much much worse and not seen you call anyone on it.  Getting selective in your calling people out, Chrono?

I don't think that's fair. I seem to recall creating a topic that specifically called out everyone dissing people who used MEHEM, and since you posted in it quite a bit, you should too.

OP, are you sure the nameplate actually went on to the wall, and your LI didn't stop and hold on to it instead?
