Well, take it with a grain of salt, because now I can't find the source.

It's something to be prepared for though, I have been able to find a bunch of analysis saying that people believe they are AI controled because of their tight formation in the trailer.

Isn't that just the airstrike you call in on that one map?

I'd be surprised if they didn't have dogfights since you have jets in battlefield.

Well it's not like the trailer was actual gameplay...

As sourced above, there are more than eight maps. We don't know how many.

True enough, but I was disappointed with that the moment they said they were limiting it to only 4 planets. Star wars and its planet's one note environs don't exactly lend themselves to map variety. But Battlefront 2 had that on lock simply by having a whole load of planets. We won't find that here.

Hopefully the maps are a bit more balanced than some of the ones in Battlefront 2. I think I won on Endor with the Empire exactly once.

I always felt that map was rigged. The Empire had freakin' AT-STs and were slaughtering the rebels and ewoks yet the numbers go down anyway.

Exactly like the movie, I guess.

I think the problem was command post placement and the ewoks. With conquest your reinforcements dropped until a certain point if the enemy controlled more than half of the posts. And one of the Empire's posts is almost right below a Rebel one, and it's totally unsupported, so it usually gets overrun. Then the ewoks add insult to injury, with their infinite spawning, rocks that stun you, and their natural camouflage.

This. Whenever i played Galactic Conquest as the Empire i'd immediately park a fleet over Endor after capturing it. Naboo was another planet that i had a hard time defending. Especially against the droids.

I suppose that's the case. I'm really hoping the maps are balanced and not contrived enough to fit the movie's narrative.

Because a bunch of stone age teddy bears and a handful of poorly-prepared rebels curbstomping "trained" stormtroopers with blasters and armor is kind of something that should be left in the past.

I was about to say something -- That trailer is totally wrong! Where are all the pet gophers that single handledly took down a Galactic Empire? D:<

Well, it's not like the armor was useful anyways. It offered no protection against anything in the movies.

It only has some protection in games because it's a game.

See, it's kind of understandable for lasers and blasters, but for spears and rocks thrown by small humanoid chipmunks?

DICE did a Twitter Q&A that cleared up some questions.

Of course not, there will be more microtransactions.

Also, non driveable AT-ATs?! WTF?!

One thing that I find alarming is that they haven't really confirmed anything that they've added, only what they've taken away. They keep spouting something about missions and game modes, but refuse to elaborate. Their Q&A had them answering questions without actually answering the questions, they'd deflect with stuff that was already known, for example when someone asked about Instant Action they stated there will be missions. While there might be more than 8 maps (prove it DICE), there are 4 planets total and the maps can't be that different because in Star Wars all planets have one topographical feature  <_<

I have a very bad feeling about this game, they are doing damage control on it 7 months before it even releases.

I know right, it's a symptom of a much bigger problem.

At least it isn't Whitman Fever eh?

But for real, I don't see this ending well.

-No campaign.

-No space battles.

-No Clone Wars period.

-4 planets.

-Limiting control of iconic vehicles

Sounds like a de-evolution to me.

Have to be careful with EA, great presentation and hype is their trademark to lure you in, but their games are usually weak in substance and disposable

Already heard there's no story mode, will they're at least be a conquest mode? Something new and innovative? With them probably not

Some of the maps on Battlefront and Battlefront 2 can be unbalanced, but there was a lot of variety to them especially in Battlefront 2.
