Everything i've heard about this makes it sound like a battlefield clone. I'm not surprised just disappointed.
it is. it's based on battlefield 4 mechanicsEverything i've heard about this makes it sound like a battlefield clone. I'm not surprised just disappointed.
Boooooooooo
Boooooooooo
It has less maps than the original, no clone wars, no space battles, AT-AT's are on rails, Y-Wings are rumored to be called in for bombing runs only, no single player campaign and likely no Galactic Conquest mode. The original Battlefront had all of these things except for space battles which 2 added. It just baffles me that an 11 and 10 year old game out shines the newer one in every way except for graphics.
I'm just gonna go play Battlefront 2 XL mode and laugh.

I'm gonna duel with A.Is in Jedi Academy and laugh at you all cuz you don't have awesome Jedi game to play with.

Funny you say that. Because I'm not much entranced with the game because it's not going to be Battlefield'ish enough. No ADS with weapons unless they have scopes, overpowered hero characters, plus the stuff you can deduct, like weapons not going to have much recoil you'd have to tame (since laser guns don't have any recoil), instead we'd most likely have arbitrary random spread you can't compensate for like you could learn to control weapon recoil. Plus all the neat implications of it being a PG-13 game and the associated audience plus the usual PR talk of accessability, which will in all likelyhood mean that there's going to be a very low skillgate and -gap.
So, for Battlefielders, the game is too casual ... and for other people the game looks too Battlefield'ish. Someone over at the marketing department at EA is not having fun with his job right now ![]()
You mean it didn't get canceled?

Some news on Battlefront:
Why Star Wars Battlefront Won’t Have Single Player
Moore rationalized this decision by stating that when development started on the game, the team looked toward the future of gaming and recognized that the market was moving towards multiplayer-centric games (...)
“Very few people actually play the single-player on these kind of games. That’s what the data points to.”
I wonder why it is that few people play the SP campaign? Could it be because they're usually terrible?
The single player for Battlefront 2 was great. It put us in the perspective of a clone trooper throughout the saga, and it showed that a mostly multiplayer can integrate well with single player. The fact that they're not even considering singleplayer makes it less likely that I'll buy the game.
The single-players in Battlefield are usually terrible -- Clearly that was enough for Moore to reconsider adding it in Battlefront, perhaps because he truly believes that his Battlefront is a bonifide Battlefield re-skin too. Battlefront 2's campaign was fun. It was fun going through the events of the films as a Clone Trooper and ultimately Stormtrooper, while occasionally shifting to the featured hero characters.

"We left as heroes, years later we returned as conquerors."
Aye, the journals were my favorite part of the SP.

"In the waning months of the Clone Wars, the 501st faced missions critical to the agenda of Chancellor Palpatine. When we arrived at the bombed out ruins of Mygeeto, our Jedi commander believed we had been sent to take out a droid energy collector. What Ki-Adi-Mundi didn't know however was that our unit of the 501st was really after an experimental Mygeetan power source, that the Chancellor wanted for his superlaser. Keeping Mundi in the dark wasn't easy; the Jedi had become increasingly wary of the Chancellor's doings, and was on the lookout for the slightest hint of treachery. Just like the rest of them though, he never caught whiff of what was really going on, until it was far too late."
Excellent narration from Temuera Morrison, returning to voice the Clone Troopers (still salty about Lucas editing him in as the voice of Boba in the Original Trilogy) I still like him though.
My favorite is the one from Operation: Knightfall (the purge in the Jedi Temple).
"What I remember about the rise of the Empire is… is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word."

The chills as I read this... mmmmm, love it.
This how one should experience the prequels story as opposed to actually watching them.
"Suddenly, we realized that the Jedi could be fooled. And if they could be fooled. They could be killed".
