Star Wars Battlefront will be shown at the Star Wars Celebration at some point between the 16th of April and the 19th of April. My expectations are incredibly low, but here's hoping that it's a worthy successor to Battlefront and Battlefront 2.
Why would your expectations be low? "Batllefield that looks like Star Wars" isn't too hard to pull off, I would think.

That's exactly what I don't want and what I think is going to happen.
I'm also predicting DICE to pull a "Star Wars Battlefront Premium" after the game has been out for 4-6 months.
Most of my best memories of Battlefront were playing with Bots in Galactic Conquest, I have strong feeling that bots and Galactic Conquest will not be present, I also feel like split-screen will not be present. It'll probably be a horribly written and short campaign with the main focus being the multiplayer which will likely be a clone of Battlefield 4 with Star Wars skins.
All of the gameplay I've seen of the old Battlefront was almost exactly like Battlefield with a different skin. Maybe a case of nostalgia getting in the way of the truth?

Battlefront was inspired by Battlefield, but it still did enough different that it was able to form its own identity. Conquering the galaxy was also a blast, especially in Battlefront 1 when playing as the Empire you got to use a Death Star to blow up a planet after so many wins in a row. I'd be willing to give up third person, but it would be a bit of a shame because it was cool for me to see that I was a Stormtrooper.

Yeah. This. I also believe that split screen will get the shaft, but I do wish that not only do they keep it but also give you more customization of the enemy (things like AI difficult or weapon damage sliders). Basically just more options for customizing the difficulty setting.

Yeah, I get that feeling too.
I'd like to be able to customize my armor in minor ways, like maybe being able to add red stripes to the arms of stormtrooper armor.
Now all they need is to announce the hero characters as well, so I can run at the speed of a Bugatti Veyron and whack Anakin Skywalker over the head as Darth Vader with my big glowing Jedi-willy extension.

I feel like Battlefront would have been listed under Episode II had it started during/covered the Clone Wars.

I just want space battles and the ability to hijack capital ships so I can blow them up with my squad.
Maybe not in story mode, but in pvc & pvp matches perhaps Clone Wars era will still have playable factions & levels? I'm still hoping EA will represent their devs with KotOR factions & such. Even if those things don't make it I still feel excited about this game.
I've considered this, but I dunno. DICE's vagueness on the matter does not instill confidence in me that it'll be in the game at all, furthermore Disney seems to be distancing itself from the prequels as much as it can. I feel that the Clone Wars era should absolutely be included in the game because it's the first act of the overall story, it makes the rise of the Empire possible which in turn makes the events of Episode VII possible.

Oh god, please no more patches by DICE.
I swear to all things I hold dear, EVERY. SINGLE. PATCH. EVER. From DICE for Bf4 broke my game. I had to routinely uninstall, then redownload everything, install again just to play again, upon which most of the time DICE fixed some stuff, but reintroduced old bugs that were fixed and caused completely new bugs. Plus each patch so far required a couple server side stability patches just so people could reliably join servers and stop the game from randomly crashing all the time.
The fewer DICE patches, the better.

I haven't seen anything about that and our clan leader has been spamming us with news for every Battlefront update he could find.
