Finding the dream-child

Nothing against them in general. They add to the story and give some insight into Shepard's stat of mind. But... I can never find the #$%^&* kid.
I ran around in there for a few minutes until I finally found him, and that gets more and more frustrating in the later dreams. I know this is a very minor part of the game, but... am I missing the trick of how to figure out where that damn kid is hiding? It annoys me to no end with every playthrough. Oh, not on PC so I can't mod it out.

Look for a particular glow in the distance, phoenix. Lol, I feel like I'm talking to myself..... But yeah, look for a glow.
The whole place is glowing! (;
I tried following what I thought were embers form a fire, but that turned out to be leaves...

From a distance you should see him glow, a bit like that **** at the end. There's no real trick to spotting him, but I'd suggest keeping an eye on the direction he runs off to. That might help, but otherwise - Look for forest Casper.

IIRC the sound cues can tell you what direction to turn, but I don't know if that will help if you're playing on console.
Why would sound cues not work on a console?...

I just meant that a lot of consoles I've seen aren't set up well for directional sound. Depends on your speakers, though; it's not a problem with consoles per se.

The funny thing is playing on PC was really difficult for me because of the sound. I have the console hooked up to the nice surround soundsystem in the living room, the PC just has stereo speakers. In multiplayer, enemies kept sneaking up on me...

I play on an SD screen, but it's easy for me to spot him. It might be the brightness making your screen deceive you. Which dream sequence are you on?
I just did the first one, but I've had this problem in all of them, and in every playthrough I've done.

Lol, a tip for you. Look around the direction in which the kid runs towards. You'll eventually find him.
I tried following him, he's never there! Grr. No worries, if there's no obvious thing, I'll just... look for him...

He's the bright white glow, everything else has a dimmer, colored glow.
This. Look for a white snowball, basically.

I don't move at all, and the cutscene will still appear having a "not-my-Shepard" moment. Seriously, the dreams should have had whoever you lost, and/or who you might lose like your LI.
They do have people you lost whispering in the background. Not the same, but you know.

The final dream should have had you watching your LI getting liquefied while your were trying in vain to get said person out of the cocoon.

It would have been welcome AND realistic at the same time.
