I cannot decide between playing as a human or a qunari.

I can't see myself playing as a human ever again, if they continue to offer the four races as choices. In DA: O, I've had about 10 playthroughs and only 1 was a human and that was a mage. I only picked a human because dwarves can't be mages and I have never had an interest in playing as an elf in any fantasy game. Every other playthrough is a dwarf (mostly warriors).

In DA 2, I had no choice, so it was three playthroughs of human mHawke (a mage, then a warrior, then another mage to get my "canon" version).

Now that I have dwarves AND qunari, I can't see any reason to pick an elf or human. I'm planning on doing a male qunari rogue, then a male dwarf warrior, then a female qunari mage. If there's enough replayability for a fourth (which I'm hoping there is.....!), then it'll be a female dwarf rogue or warrior (depending on which I liked best).

You do know that qunari isnt a religion, its the term for followers of the religion or way of life. Usually the term is used for anyone of the "Horned race" unless you're going to address both followers of the qun and non followers that are of the "Horned race"

its either the followers of the qun, qunari or the ones who abandoned the qun tal-vashoth

or that one guy in da:2 whose name means "nothing"

Youre point just complicates the thread for something most of us already know. The devs are referring to the race as "Qunari" to avoid confusion so no need for the endless debate

For me, it's a Qunari. Because I want a huge bullseye painted on my fire slinging lady Qunari's back. I can't wait to see how the Tevinters respond to her. It'll be magical~

Small q vs. Big Q.

See ... when you have a made up rule that's not anywhere officially declared, this is what happens.

People need to get with the "small-q/Big-Q" PROGRAM. :police:

I agree with this, it works. Though "Vashoth" can also be acceptable now since it has been clarified that,  that is what we will be playing as.

OK. It must be idiom. Because I'm not sure why "true" "grey ones" would be different from "grey ones" in a meaningful way that results in that distinction.

So this is the new Kirbyite doctrine? Vashoth = never in the Qun or passively rejected the Qun. Tal-Vashoth = actively opposing the Qun.

I don't remember any of the Tal-Vashoth in DA2 denouncing the Qun or actively fighting it. They were just mercenaries (and being a mercenary is forbidden under the Qun) and brigands.

But I digress. B)

Sounds inspiring, I should try it when I'm choosing a girl to go to a date.

Here's the DA wiki article on Tal-Vashoth just because I feel like I may have remembered wrong, or the article was changed since the last time I read it or I might have heard that stuff from people on here. The article says that "When Qunari abandon the teachings of Qun they become known as Vashoth in
the Qunari society and eventually they have to leave or risk
re-education by the Ben-Hassrath...... Violent ones unwilling to submit often become mercenaries or bandits;
majority of them are those who were formerly soldiers, and do it because
they have no other useful skill."
