I've always stopped at rank 5.

Yes ... 4 in TC and 4 in fitness .. then I go all damage and debuff for PM .. it becomes much more powerful; a weapon and a debuff rolled into 1

Although the tradeoff seems to be rank 5 of fitness (which is a very underrated evo IMO)

Yeah, I can feel the difference when I take the extra damage.

Heldarion does, and I do now, too. The extra damage in Rank 6 gives what you need to stagger Phantoms with PM.

0 fitness points on a geth is a terrible idea

Uh? I was under the impression that PM could stagger Phantoms regardless of that evo...

46664.

As mentioned, the extra damage makes it stagger phantoms, and it makes it just powerful enough to kill a husk without firing a shot at it, which is occasional useful to help thin a crowd quickly.

Javalin GI's often put 6 into prox mine for precisely that reason, to help conserve javelin ammo.

Geth Engineer says hello.

I've just had a horrible thought...

I recently removed rank 6 of proxy mine on my TSol, to take the first 3 ranks or concussive shot, as you do, but I haven't played him in gold yet like this.

Will either prox mine with 5 ranks(radius spec) or concussive shot with 3 ranks be enough to stagger a phantom on gold?

Because if not, I need a respec card now!

geth engineer doesn't say hello because he's dead with 0 points in fitness

I find it odd that people skip fitness on a 'species' with such high base shield.

Due to that higher starting #, fitness will add much more via percentage than many of the other classes.

Not with a turret that restores his shields every 3 seconds, he doesn't. :)

I'm not entirely sure as I'm not really a number-cruncher. On TSol, I don't worry about Phantoms much because Marksman + Hurricane X eats them fast enough that it's not really been an issue for me.

I like having something in Concussive Shot for a quick "back off" type of power since he can't dodge. Keeps those mangy husks off and whatnot. I suppose proxy mine would basically do the same, though. Six of one, half dozen of the other sort of deal.

That's one way to look at it.  Personally, I think about how much I need to play with (shields) and start thinking about sacrificing fitness once it's high enough (if something else may be worth more).

geth turret won't restore your shields when you're dead
