I don't see how anyone who has used a weapon on the GI, then proceeded to use that same weapon on any other kit can possibly claim the GI isn't superior with that weapon.

Arc Pistol. Negligible damage and RoF difference but the Drell gets 10% more headshots damage on an insane headshot gun (enough to one shot Platinum Phantoms). They are nearly the same. Then the Drell's other bonuses start taking over and the Drell gets a very slight advantage.

It's true, me0120 beat me in the Thunderdome 1v1 babby, when I was my on host N7 Fury and he was his DI with Arc Pistol. :P

Thanks Ari. That was one of the smoothest duo's I've played, let alone a Thunderdome! Image IPB

It was really fun! xD

We work really well together without using mics. lol

You don't sword fight with your hand on the other man's hilt.

But I was using Moby's sword to parry Deerber's advances.. I do feel bad about the mushroom shaped bruises left on Deerber's cheeks.

Bless you and thanks for the appropriate contributions. I was starting to wonder when the discussion moved from DAI vs GI to.... what was all that about?!?!?!
Anyways, your contribution was quite insightful because although I know GI is powerful but after playing Drell A** for a while I am starting to feel he is just as powerful as GI if specced and played right.

The Drell Assassin holds down the line way better than the GI. So if you are gonna camp, the mine is amazing as constant debuff and cleanup with power amplifiers, allowing you to take down wave after Platinum wave of full health minions and weakened armored enemies without breaking a sweat. In maps like Giant and White, you can stay in one spot and take on the hordes by your lonesome without dying once.

However, in a full team, spawn rushing and nuking, with everyone doing their own thing, the GI is better than any other character in the game. There's just no way to compete with it. The Drell has to deploy his mine constantly, and in the time it takes to arm it, detonate it and re-deploy, the GI already has mopped the floor with everything, no matter what difficulty setting you chose.

They are good for different things really.

I'd say this...

With a team actually using the benefits of the mine. I'd say he's better... But then again... camping allways is. :P

I understand MG is making some theoretical calculation, and that's why his results do not couple well with practical experience. However, he seemed to be aware of that (kind of, I think) so as long as he's happy with that, all is good.

The last comment was more directed at calling the scanner "some frivolous vision addon", or something like that, which is... Well, you know :?

I'm not saying the scanner is mandatory on her. I do know that she has grenades and that to keep up with the GI she needs to burn through them (to keep up in speed), and that's yet another point the GI has as an advantage, but I didn't want to make it complicated and kept them out of my reasoning.

What I was saying is that if you want to have any chance to keep up with the GI, then you have to equip the scanner. Why? Cause he already has it, so... He can wallhack and you can't. It's like saying that he's using a rifle and you're using a dagger.,. If you want to have any chance of your AIU comparing with the GI, you have to "upgrade" your dagger to a pistol at least and take the scanner.

And, when there was no scanner there was no AIU either... And the main reason why the GI was considered heaps and bounds above everything else in the game was wallhack. Everything else was enough, as the advent of the scanner showed, to keep it above even when everything else was given wallhack, but... It was all secondary.

LOL is all I can say.
Tip: it's actually hypocritical to call someone else an "idiot" when I'm pretty sure that you've done something idiotic in real life (or in the past) as well.

I cannot survive using the GI... like at all. I can use every other infiltrator fine, but I feel like I get taken out from two shots with the GI on gold. TGI still reigns supreme

I'm inclined to wager that recon mine did more damage to the enemy than his arc pistol in that match no better map for it.  It's GI though, HM is just too good with the rof increase and any 10% increase in headshot damage on a charged weapon is negligable unless the 10% turns a two shot kill into a one shot kill which is probably pretty rare. I love the drell too though cause he laughs at cyclonics and shields in general.

Flibber, off host recon mine is unreliable, the arc pistol did much more damage. And collectors plat is one of the only places that tests the arc pistol's headshot damage.

The trick is killing the things before the things can even shoot. GI far surpasses TGI in everything except ease of use, and it's about equal if the GI is using Cycloncs.

They are both quite boring imo. And the Drell is bugged with some weapons for some weird reason.

I'd have thought DI not GI would be the one anyone would find squishiest of all the infiltrators. DI low shield/high health, GI high shield/low health... they both make up for it with high damage output thus with both characters you have a higher chance of killing everything before they have a chance to take you down.

I honestly forget that the Drell Assassin only has 400 shields with my build.

Combining Tactical Cloak with the highest base movement speed makes the DAI one of the hardest kits in the game to kill. Even compared to the GI, I would say that his movement speed helps make up some difference.

I think in the hands of someone who can use Hunter Mode, the GI is definitely more survivable, and without it, he has pretty impressive shields, so he has a lot going for him, either way.

I don't really think of either kit as "squishy," but I'd say I have an easier time surviving with the DAI, if only because I can't use Hunter Mode.

The drell is arguably more squishy as atleast the geth can use cm 4 to be not-squishy. Higher base health is of little consequence as there is no way to improve it other than fitness.

Drell's speed with AM III more than makes up for it.

Also, a Drell can survive a banshee warp that shield-gates while only having one bar of health. On top of that, the DI has an "instant stagger button" which means more sustained damage.

If you get hit by a banshee warp using the drell, you're doing it wrong;)
Also what is this instant stagger button you are talking about....both of his booms take a while before exploding unless if already ccast ofcourse
