1. A way to aim most spells. I don't know if this applies to the PC version of the DA games but on the PS3 in both DAO and DA2 there was no way to aim certain spells or our staff attacks. IMO, one of the very best spells in DA2 for example, was the Horror/Despair spell on the Entropy spell tree. It is one of the only (if not THE only) spells in all of DA2 that stops 100% of all enemies including bosses and so forth. The problem is with that spell there is no way to aim it at someone and it uses a lot of mana as well so wasting it really stinks. So if I am being attacked by three normal thugs and one dragon and I cast it, it almost always affects one of the thugs. Even the spell winters grasp, which is a "bread & butter" spell for the elementalists, you can't aim it directly at someone. Sometimes when I cast it at an enemy charging me, my mage will literally turn and hit someone to the side or behind me.

Yes, many of the spells you can aim, but it just doesn't make a lick of sense not to be able aim any spell, or at least focus them in a general direction esp those that are designed to affect a single enemy.

2. Looking up codex entries quickly please. (I think in DAO it had this feature but not DA2 for some reason.) There are so many codex entries in the game and just after a short time playing the game you have tones of them. It would be nice that if we click on something that gives us a codex entry we should be able to go to the codex section in the journal and the most recent codex that we clicked on is by default open. That was such a pain in the arse in DA2 esp considering there was TWO "notes" subsections. Having to look though ALL the bloody entries looking for a codex entry that you are not even sure how its labelled is such a waste of time.

In DA2 I got to the point when I got a codex entry I wanted to read I just went online and looked it up as it was faster than trying to dig for it in the game.

I really, really love the codex entries and it makes the tone of the game so much more fun and mysterious.

Speaking of codex and mysterious, I am currently playing my 20-somthing run through of DA2 and found a "semi-hidden" codex entry today for the first time. I had no idea all it was there and just accidentally found it when I was clicking on something else. The reason I say semi-hidden is that there was no indication there was anything there at all, no reason to click on it or anything, I was so excited that even at this point I am still discovering things and it was a particularly emotional entry, actually I would say it was probably the most emotional provoking one in the game.

So anyway, please consider these?

1) I'm not sure about the PS3, but the 360 and PC versions let you choose your target. For the 360, you would bring up the Quick Menu (which would pause the gameplay), aim the reticule to your target, then choose the spell you want to cast. Again - not sure if PS3 did that or not, but I can only imagine it worked in a similar way? But if not (and I'd defer to your experience of 20 playthroughs, then that is a huge request.

2) I agree 100% here. A reorganization of the Codex to be a little less cumbersome and a little more UI and player friendly would be nice.

If someone told me a way to actually aim Horror at one person specific on the PS3 in DA2 I would smile for a bloody week. No joke. Many/Most spells we actually have to pick a target before casting but just a few it doesn't give us that option. Drives me freaking nuts.

on the 360 I think it was the d'pad that let you switch targets for regular attacks and the spells that didn't stop time or whatever. I never played it on the ps3 but it might be the same

1. It's the same in both DAO and DA2 at least on the 360, hold the radial menu use the thumbstick (right one on 360) that allows you to look around which moves the target curser which is the small circle in DA2 then use your spell. Was able to aim horror in DAO like that, DA2 should be the same but I lost all my data so I couldn't check though it worked for the single target spells.

2. The UI actually looks a lot different in DAI though not sure how much it will change from what it is currently.
