What drew you to the Dragon Age series?

I'll add my thoughts later, but for now I figured I'd just toss the question out there.

Back when I unconditionally trusted Bioware. Was not diappointed.

I am not lying when I say this, but when I played DAO and my Warden kissed Leliana for the first time (remember I had no idea it could actually happen (f/f)) I cried in happiness in real life. It was the first time that I had ever felt that my feelings and life situations were included in an RPG video game. I remember sitting in my chair and my hands were shaking, it was one of those moments when the clouds parted and the sun came down on me. It was a wonderful moment in time.
Ever since then I have been a fiercely loyal fan and actually was so inspired by it I have written two, 200 page fan-fiction novellas.
The only problem is, it literally ruined ALL other RPG games for me (ME withstanding).

I was bored and there was a sale.
Same. Saw it in Gamestop one day and went "What the hell, nearly every other game they've got here doesn't interest me."

Edit: Wow, the way that came out last time was sounded worse than I thought! I apologize for that.

Better late than never. Some one on here actually suggested that I try out Dragon Age. So here I am
Edit: The reason I like it is because I feel like it is a new game everytime I play it. There is something that I didn't hear or see before. I have different characters with me each time so I get to hear all the fun bantor.

Fair enough, but what keeps you invested in the series?

Dwarves.
I honestly love Dwarves in pretty much every work of fantasy.

I was listening to some Mass Effect music on youtube and saw it on the suggestion and clicked it.
Fell in love with the song and bought both DA:O and DA2 with no clue what it was about except that it was an RPG and it made by the same company that made Mass Effect.
It sounds kind of stupid buying a game on just one song but I don't regret it

You do realize this makes us mortal enemies now?
....for at least three books/movies anyway.

Had a jones one day some time in the summer of 2012 to play something similar to them, but I was burned out of the Mass Effect games. Searched amazon for games by Bioware (completely forgot at the time that they made Dragon Age) and ended up getting the Ultimate edition of DAO. Picked up DAII maybe a month afterwards.

What's so cool about Elves? Dwarves have awesome underground cities, The Legion of the Dead, Oghren, Varric, and Fun Size Bonus.
Elves have.. City Elves and the LOLish.
