This is based upon a PM question I got a couple of days ago.  Also, what keeps you coming back?

I'll add my thoughts later, but for now I figured I'd just toss the question out there.

Since Shattared Steel I have been stuck with BioWare and really like the work they do.

Saw how much customization and role playing Origins had. Picked it up right away.

Back when I unconditionally trusted Bioware. Was not diappointed.

I like BioWare games what more could be said, as for what makes me come back to the series every single day it would be:

  Roleplaying. Story. Characters. Feels.

And I've playing Dragon Age since 2009 and I'm not gonna stop now.

Love these type of "High Fantasy" setting, love how much you can shape your own character and i feel invested into the story compared to other fantasy games (witcher, skyrim, Dragons dogma)

The single most important thing that drew me to DA games was the Romance option. I rarely actually played video games until I read that about Dragon Age Orgins included romanced but I had NO IDEA when I first started playing that there was a F/F possibility.

I am not lying when I say this, but when I played DAO and my Warden kissed Leliana for the first time (remember I had no idea it could actually happen (f/f)) I cried in happiness in real life. It was the first time that I had ever felt that my feelings and life situations were included in an RPG video game. I remember sitting in my chair and my hands were shaking, it was one of those moments when the clouds parted and the sun came down on me. It was a wonderful moment in time.

Ever since then I have been a fiercely loyal fan and actually was so inspired by it I have written two, 200 page fan-fiction novellas.

The only problem is, it literally ruined ALL other RPG games for me (ME withstanding).

A trailer I don't even remember. Just a trailer. I went in not knowing a thing about what DAO was (besides a RPG) and it was way more than I ever expected it to be.

Companion interaction, role playing, customization, & I guess a little bit of the romance

Same. Saw it in Gamestop one day and went "What the hell, nearly every other game they've got here doesn't interest me."

Fair enough, but what keeps you invested in the series?

Edit: Wow, the way that came out last time was sounded worse than I thought!  I apologize for that.

I didn't get into it until late 2012. I actually didn't start playing it until January of 2013. I purchased it through the PSN and I was playing Mass Effect at the time and was playing some other games. I finally got around to playing it and I fell in love with the game. I have about 8 or so game files on Origins and I purchased all the dlc and then I purchased Dragon Age 2 and got the dlc for that. So Dragon Age Inquisition will be the first Dragon Age game that I will getting on game day! I did purchase Mass Effect 3 on game day.

Better late than never. Some one on here actually suggested that I try out Dragon Age. So here I am

Edit: The reason I like it is because I feel like it is a new game everytime I play it. There is something that I didn't hear or see before. I have different characters with me each time so I get to hear all the fun bantor.

Dwarves.

I honestly love Dwarves in pretty much every work of fantasy.

Leliana's song.
I was listening to some Mass Effect music on youtube and saw it on the suggestion and clicked it.

Fell in love with the song and bought both DA:O and DA2 with no clue what it was about except that it was an RPG and it made by the same company that made Mass Effect.

It sounds kind of stupid buying a game on just one song but I don't regret it  :)

Saw it in a Game Informer, thought it looked cool. The second RPG series I had ever played, after KOTOR.

You do realize this makes us mortal enemies now?

....for at least three books/movies anyway.

ME1 and ME2 spoiled me.

Had a jones one day some time in the summer of 2012 to play something similar to them, but I was burned out of the Mass Effect games. Searched amazon for games by Bioware (completely forgot at the time that they made Dragon Age) and ended up getting the Ultimate edition of DAO. Picked up DAII maybe a month afterwards.

What's so cool about Elves? Dwarves have awesome underground cities, The Legion of the Dead, Oghren, Varric, and Fun Size Bonus.

Elves have.. City Elves and the LOLish.
