I got DA:O, DA:A, ME1, and ME2 for a grand total of 15 bucks, great games worth the price.
What drew you to the Dragon Age series?

First because it had Bioware's logo, then the videos of the developers playing Ostagar.
I keep coming back because of the setting, story, choices, characters, making your own party/hero and fighting.

Mostly the character creator. I played Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights. DAO came across as an improvement on the franchise. Bioware creating their own universe was an added attraction. But the character creator is what made me buy it early as opposed to my usual practise of waiting for a price drop.

Some dude told me about it in a chatroom and I was looking for a good long game to play at the time.

At some point I found out that Bioware was gonna make a new RPG. I knew them back then from Kotor 1. The setting looked interesting so that convinced me to get it. No regrets.

I hadn't owned a console or gaming PC in years. Then I played DAO at my cousin's house. I love high fantasy. I loved the character creation and the allowing of choices. I was happy that I could play an elf. Despite the inaccessibility of the combat, I was totally immersed, and I was surprised that video games could have a story that was not dumb. Decided right then and there to get back into video games.

I'd watched my brother play Mass Effect 2 when it first came out and he let me play it - but only on a schedule and when he felt generous, like big brothers have the power to do.
So I decided to buy my own Xbox and Mass Effect 1 and 2.
Then he suggested I play his PC Dragon Age: Origins to see if I'd want that for my Xbox too and I fell in love with it.
My favourite game ever.

It was a Bioware game. I loved KOTOR and Mass Effect. So that's the reason.

I got DAO for PS when I was looking for an RPG that looked as if it would have good replayability. DAO gave me my money's worth for sure in that department. The fact that I loved that game so much made me get DA2 to have the same good experience again...
Played Never Winter Nights on pc some time before that, and although buggy, loved it. I want to start a playthrough again at some point.

Back in the day, my cousin brought me two games: lost odyssey and DA:O. I had played only jrpgs since childhood and had been finding them childish and increasingly boring and the same in recent years and I thought that meant I was growing out of gaming altogether. I tried lost odyssey first on my cousin's suggestion, predicted every plot "twist" and got to the last disc of this game that was like so many I had played before before I was just too bored to continue. I then played DA:O and was blown away! The unique origins, race and gender choice, the fact that I could make my characters looks and personality however I wanted, and the deep and interesting characters and lore made me hooked. I never went back to jrpgs after that and I never will.

I've played all Bioware games since BG. I love their emphasis on story, characters and interaction with companions.
As opposed to games like The witcher I like the ability to customize my character and play as a female and I prefer a stronger main storyline and characters than games like Skyrim have.
I pretty much buy all Bioware games as they come out because I know I like their games.
I've been a little disappointed by ME3 endings and DA2 wasn't as good as their other games, but I still trust that the company will deliver a satisfying experience.

I really wish I could remember what the tipping point was that finally brought me around to buying Dragon Age.
Because I never followed the development or bought it immediately upon release (it was sometime between release and the Awakening expansion) and I was reluctant to (in part) because it didn't have the D&D license (I had played every D&D licensed game) and I was also heavily into FPSs as the time.
I remember seeing the commerials on TV, "Not all heroes are good...", and cringing a little. I think it was after it starting winning all those awards that I starting paying more attention to it. And it was probably a Steam sale that finally got me to take the plunge.
1,000+ hours of playthroughs later...

I was a freshman in college needed a single player game to play until I got internet set up and what not. Ordered Dragon Age and Mass Effect since I read good reviews about them (I had not played a BioWare game before). Loved the hell out of both of them.

I was sort of trying to figure out what sort of game genres I actually wanted to play. For awhile, my first and only real RPG experience not to mention on of my favorite games of all time, aside from JRPGs and one or two handheld dungeon crawlers if they count, was KOTOR. I liked KOTOR II, but it was rather half finished. Eventually I started hearing good things about Mass Effect so I decided to give it a shot.
I got hooked. Even went back and played Jade Empire at one point.
Before you know it I was eagerly anticipating the release of ME2 and DAO. The latter I was a little apprehensive about because it was unfamiliar, but I was intrigued by the concept of race choice and playable origin stories. Most of the other RPGs I've mentioned didn't have that level of customization starting out. The rest is history.

I played Mass Effect 1 in early 2009 and I personelly considered it one of my favorite games of all time and played through it several times, and at E3 2009 I started hearing about Dragon Age and that it was from the same creators as Mass Effect and bought it as soon as it was released.

The Sacred Ashes Trailer - I watched it and was fascinated by it, I pre-ordered the special edition for the 360 and fell in love with characters. It was the first Bioware game I ever played and from there I went on to the ME Series, Jade Empire and KOTOR.

Being able to play a female character.
Character customisation in general.
Origin stories and different races.

I went over to my friends house and put it in his xbox and told me to play it. Just playing the first origin(human noble of course), I loved it and was sad I had to go home as soon as I reached Ostagar.

I'd seen it in the shops for a while but never bothered picking up the case even to look at it. The name and the dragon on the front put me off, thinking it was another martial arts game, I ignored it.
Then a long time after, I was getting bored, played gw and wow to death and was so fed up with them, too shallow and disposable characters.
My son had played DA and I asked him what it was like and gave it a go. Loved it from the start.
it gave me what I felt was lacking in the other games....character development, companion interaction, and a story that I was really interested in.

I'm a sucker for medieval style rpg's. Also the trailers looked rad. What keeps me coming back is the fact that I haven't been disappointed yet.
