What drew you to the Dragon Age series?

Ultimately didn't manage to stay with my decision and played DA2 nevertheless - and happened to like it, too.
Am now hopelessly in love with the story, the characters and the whole setting and cannot wait for DA:I ...

You know, I get the sense you're trying to say something about Bio, but I'm not sure what it is.
You veered far more from the Diplomatic response into Sarcastic than I usually do. :innocent:
It's my horrible personality.
But honestly, my only intention was to describe my own history on Bioware forums. That was all, really.

I'd played KOTOR and KOTOR2 and had been blown away with them back then. I'd also played ME1 at least half a dozen times. (I also beat ME2 three times but I don't remember if I played both at the same time or not.) I was reading an article online about DAO shortly before release and found the idea of multiple origins interesting so I preordered.
The similarity to my ancient memories of KOTOR along with the character customization/origins, along with the solid worldbuilding and characters drew me in. I was hooked. I preordered DA2, trusting BioWare to bring out another game similar to that and was disappointed. DA2 is a good game, but not a great game like Origins was.
As for DAI, I'm hoping BioWare learnt from the DA2/ME3 debacle (as I've abandoned the ME universe) and will make DAI more like the games of old. But I no longer trust BioWare. I plan to wait to get spoilers on how the end pans out before deciding whether to buy or not.

ME2 was at least loads better than DA2. ME3 had some good bits, but the not so good bits where just so bad that it dragged the whole game down.
Having high hopes for DA:I, but the recent track record does not give me a great deal of faith.
As far of the original posters question, Dragon Age sort of contiuned the whole Baulders Gate thing for me. I figured if Bioware could make such an amazing series of BG then Dragon Age must be good. I was right about DA:O, everything AFTER that... well...

I don't even remember. I just know I had seen an image about a game with dragons; I think there was something about being able to ride a dragon; and I just assumed Dragon Age: Origins was it.Naesaki wrote...

Was it Divinity II: Ego Draconis?

Come to think of it, Dragon Age is the only team-based WRPG around. Alongside a few obscure ones like the games Piranha bytes makes.
That is until Pillars of Eternity and Wasteland 2 hit the scenes, at least.

No, that was my first thought too. I remember it being this completely armored man; helmet included; and the background was a burning city or something similar.Kingroxas wrote...

Really, that's the reason.
IMO, Bioware is the best company in games nowadays(That I know of...).
Ah, also, 'cause of RPG Elements

After adoring that game, I found myself really liking BioWare's style and companion system and tried their other series, Mass Effect.
At this point, I'm a hopeless BioWare fangirl.

Yep, that is exactly it. Thanks for refreshing my memory.
I was looking for Lair and ended up buying Dragon Age: Origins by mistake. So, I came out winning.
