@Shemsu-Heru
Thank you. :-)

Not within the time constraints of this CCC, for sure. I'll probably end up making a fancy suit or two at some point, but I rather intend all and any clothes I make to be at least nearly identical for both genders. The way a lot of currently existing clothes morph from one kind of attire to a completely different one sort of irks me; particularly when they use different colour channels, it's usually impossible to make both variants look "just right". And having to gender-restrict armour items because the models for the opposite gender are missing (or mangled) is just sad. Let the gents do their dragonslaying wearing frilly skirts if they want to. Takes a real man to save the world swathed in silk and lace, anyway.

But you (or anybody else who cares to) are super welcome to set up a variant of the dress with a different male version if you like. I am extremely many kinds of not touchy about this stuff. ^^

And anyway, consider the scenario where the male hero is woken in the middle of the night to deal with the attacking goblins only to find that a thief has stolen all their clothes. They now have the option of fighting (or scaring them away (^_^)) naked or they can fight wearing the dress the thief "kindly" left for them.

Would these qualify? Not sure if they are actually gothic or just horrific:

But if they do, I'm hoping to be done to animate them before the challenge is over.

Hah, had forgotten all about that one. Anyway, a few more images then (and then I'll try to leave the texture be and focus on animating!)

Crawling claws, right? The texture looks good to me. You could also have claws from different creatures.

My first contribution to any cc challenge. Here are the gothic walls and details i use for my "lynchen" town area... I know that it will not be usable for you people once it´s released so i thought i share the textures anyway. Enjoy:

you can cut the pieces out how you want and modify as needed :)

That is a really nice texture file, although the roof texture is on the small size compared to the rest.

The player (I) have to use a more third person and very close to him view when he plays so the roofs arent anything you really see. Everything that is far away from cam has less resolution than anything that is close. I optimized it on purpose ;)

It was just the decission to go fully close behind your player view versus the "abomination" where you have to design in 3 styles. One close, one middle and one far away... thats way to much i now realized. But thats a whole topic on its own how to design a terrain texture that has details and looks good in every view... almost impossible is the only realy answer....

There... stopping by again, this time with the witchskirt, such as it is. I ended up redoing that thing a total of *seven times* - yes, count 'em, seven times. By now it's hopefully at least tolerable... and my god have I learned much about 3d modeling in these past weeks. :D

Proleric, good sir, if you have last-minute alteration requests, now is the time. o-Ô Things like "remove that weird grease-stain/dirt-pattern", "put in more of that weird grease-stain/dirt-pattern", "make it longer in the back", "make it shorter in the front", "make it altogether longer", "make it altogether shorter", "make the zigzags less even and symmetrical" and "remove the corsetthing"... etc etc. There is still time for that stuff. Not much, but there... is... still... time. ::twitches::

I'll go adjust the robe for the men, now (chest and biceps are already done, mercifully), and check through the other races and adjust them too if necessary.

Proleric, good sir, if you have last-minute alteration requests, now is the time...

This I like very much!

I agree with henesua, the rags could be less regular, maybe narrower, but that's splitting hairs; it's fine work.

P.S. Sir Adril is working on a sidesaddle phenotype, which would suit the broomstick and the dress, but let's not worry about that for this month's CCC.

P.P.S. Going back to your gothic dress for a moment, originally it had no sleeves. Can we be greedy and have both versions?

Alriiiight. :D Ziggyzaggythings have been made slightly irregular and also a bit narrower in the middle.

ccc2014febwitch_zpsae5be89c.jpg

I'll work a few kinks out of the textures and then pack it all up and send it in, now, as I'll probably not get the chance to do anything more tomorrow.

- sidesaddle:

Ooo, nice! That'll make the mounted phenotypes of this one look weird, though - I had to manually adjust it so the legs wouldn't clip through and the front wouldn't stick up in a very unseemly manner. But it's pretty likely that that'll be fixable by renumbering phenotypes 0 and 2 to (whatever) in this case, if the thighs and pelvis in the new sidesaddle pheno are reasonably close together and not doing anything crazy and/or anatomically impossible.

- gothic dress:

You do have both versions - it's not one great big connected robe, it's a robe, a chest, a neck, and two biceps pieces. So, when putting together the actual armour item, you can always just leave the biceps out. Or put in a different chest or neck, or whatever. ^^ It actually works pretty well with some shoulderpieces, too. Hooray for variation by combination. :D

The dark version looks more witch-like, I think. With a pointy, floppy hat she'd look even more so. Or maybe a dark hood? :)

I imagine it has the usual colour options, since TheBarbarian made everything else so flexible (for which many thanks!).

Black is always classic (especially for witches), but colour is always an easy way to add variety to a mob (slime green, putrid purple, whatever).

There's a witch hat here.

Now I've seen the finished dress, I'm thinking other colours, too, for Cinderella characters.

Yep, Cloth 1 for the clothy parts and Leather 1 for the corsetthing. I just like to set everything to moderate shades for preview pictures so the textures'll be visible - it's usually a bit difficult to see them properly in all black. :-)

If I've read that right, Rubies' hats are robes, which would clash with the witch skirt in this case. There's this cloak-based one here: http://www.nexusmods...inter/mods/93/?. It's a shame the entire headwear-related system in NWN1 is so unwieldy. :-/

You can also do those wizard hats as a VFX. I believe Lord of Worms did so.

Made it! Crawling claws in both left and right hand version now complete. Get the package here: https://dl.dropboxus...cclaw_v_1_0.zip

This is how the texture ended up:

cclaw4_zps5f7aeb8e.jpg

Demo module included, try it out with a level 3+ character - they aren't tough, but they make up for it by their numbers (mostly by being really annoying!).

LOL I forgot that I converted them to cloaks for that very reason... but cloaks disappear when riding, so...

You can also do those wizard hats as a VFX. I believe Lord of Worms did so.

Yes, I believe that's here somewhere. Rolo Kipp is planning to add them to the Community VFX Project; I'm hoping to use that version, when complete, as it will deliver a shed load of head VFX in one easy-to-use package.
