Lazor w/ no fitness is the best Destroyer... So stagger, much lazor, all screen shake, many dead.
Not even half as badass as no-HML claymoar/Raider Destroyer.

I cannot abide any no-HML build. The power is too cool and too unique to ever skip. That's why I run him no fitness.. he's the only character with all 3 of those powers, and I WANT to use them allz everytime. If I had to skip one it would be the grenades.. they're awesome but they're just grenades, lots of kits have grenades. No other kit has a shoulder mounted rocket launcher like the M**** Predator.. and I've always been a sucker for stagger powers.

...you could use a claymoar with mega's build, ya know? I'm with mega here about having all 3 of his unique powers. If you don't want to go completely naked, you could always take rank 6 from MFG and give it to fitness.

Or you can take 40% shields instead of 15% weapon damage at the rank 6 of DM.
1300 shields, imho, are a good compromise if one wants to play with adrenaline module.

Guys, I see your point about no fitness, but what If I don't wan't to have a staggertool? DM is all he need really. I enjoy no HML-claymoar, If I misss - I miss, I have no safety net and I like it. It doesn't make me 1337 pro, I just feel more "unprotected"
To each his own.
But mind you, I play mostly solos/on my host lately, I play at 75FPS. I don't wan't to start PC vs console discussion, we have a much better controllers after all and aiming at higher FPS is a lot more comfortable. But troopers never miss one's ass, especially destroyers ass.
So yeah, I am a scrub who relies on fitness a lot. That's the reason I always prefer TSent over Destroyer for teh Lazor, Former is more beefy while still retains the capability to one-clip bosses, he is my lazorcrutch.
[edit] and I don't really like secondaries, even on destroyer.

Yeah, now we crapping out his WD in leu of HML, great.
If one really wants dat thing so badly, it's better to spec out of nades, they are not a make or brake on him.
I wan't to ADS my guns when I need to without screenshake.

I have to disagree here. Anything with insane movement speed and cloak is pretty good with the Raider IMHO. InfiDrell or AIU are both great Raider users.Annomander wrote...

Just to be picky, it's not really the *perfect* wielder for the Raider - I can think of a couple of kits that put it to better use without even trying - AIU (obviously) and SI.
Classes with no accuracy bonus and no biotic charge are far from outstanding with the Raider. Hitting more shots leads to higher damage, and with spread as bad as the raiders, even a 75% accuracy boost from HM/ DM + SC will leave pellets missing. The AIU and SI would rank amongst "average" raider users, with the destroyer being "good".
Due to the pellet spread of the raider, accuracy bonuses are a must or a great number of your pellets each shot will sail harmlessly past the enemy unless you're within a few meters.

Err, I was just pointing out to jrob6 that if one wants to use all the powers skipping the last rank of multi frags for 3 ranks in fitness is in my opinion inferior to the other option.
That's all, I'm not saying you must do it.
Also, crapping out his weapon damage...it's not like I suggested to skip TC on an infiltrator...we're talking about 15% additive damage here, not some crazy high number.

So is every other character for the most part save for a few exceptions like winfiltrators and their cloak.. human soldier and Adrenaline Rush.. and biotic primers using Warp ammo. Most other kits get much smaller bonuses like 10-25% debuffs, weapon synergy from Charge/Havoc Strike, etc. 30% from Devastator mode isn't something super irreplaceable.. it's a freakin Rail Amp III. Without it, he's just like a lot of other characters, all of whom are plenty usable. Besides... Accuracy and ROF bonuses are really what matters anyway.. especially ROF.
Another reason why it matters even less is because the Claymore overkills every mook in the game, so in that regard you're just adding on more useless overkill damage. Of course it will still matter vs bosses.. but really, double hit glitches are worth more than that anyway. 15% really isn't a big deal... It's like saying 6b of Hunter Mode is a must when just about everyone takes speed and vision.

Consider the source... and the source's performance with the Raider.

Consider the context, mega. If one want to go full fitness and takes 6a on DM it's quite wise, cause now his destroyer can haz 2050 shields without CM.
If one want takes that evo just to have an HML... he actually sacrifice the weapon damage in leu of HML. He doesn't get speed and enhanced wallhax over 10% WD. He loses 15%WD in leu of fitness-substitute.
And while I agree with overkill/underkill claymoar thingy, those 15% often are a difference between sad and dead or alive and well crab/banshee/whatever with lazor or broophoon.
