Touché! But at that point you've already killed Loghain because Alistair's manipulation made you feel like a jerk.
(I should probably add that I like Alistair, but don't think he is a good king.)
Mmmm, not really. I felt it like Loghain had it coming. I certainly didn't feel "manipulated". I was about to lop off Loghain's head off myself, but I thought Alistair deserved it more.

It might also be a set up to play out in a future DA game. Alistair/Anora dies and it becomes part of the main plot to give Fereldan a new leader.
Who then also dies for the same reasons Alistair and Anora died!

I am not a fan of Loghain by a long shot, I got just as much satisfaction killing him as I did Howe. But at the same time, you're the head of an organisation who are supposed to stop the blight at any cost. And Duncan makes that perfectly clear during the city elf origin.eluvianix wrote...

Duty before personal feelings dictate that Alistair should let Loghain live, but all Alistair cares about is getting revenge.
ETA: I meant to say that I thought him leaving if you didn't do what he wanted was manipulative, but my airco shut down and well.. priorities.

DA6:
NPC #15: How many leaders has Fereldan had now?
NPC# 23: I lost count a long time ago

I'm surprised it wasn't TBE that created this thread. Then again, the lack of "Virgins are terrible" blah blah, should've tipped me off.

It would have been funny to have had Alistair knock up Isabela during the comic series.
Well Isabella runs off when the adventure is over from her ship and crew and I got the impression she was on her way to find him, so maybe he did knock her up!!! Or soon will. The Crow Prince as good as told her to go after him. My Warden married to him was not pleased by his actions in the comics. Alistair was very sauve to Varric's mage friend too. Alistair and Wynne's exchange in RTO grossed me out. So maybe something happened there. He is a player that is for sure. In DC it was rumored that him and Leliana were lovers! So I'd say he gets around. Virgin.....right. He really makes a case for Leliana coming along if playing as a female warden. Did him and Morrigan really hate each other. His eyes nearly popped out of his head with her walk to him during the ritual for my female wardens. After that incident I'm dumped off at Vigils keep, with no communication from him at all. Not even a simple note.
Yes, Alistair does like to spend time at the Pearl, so you never know, he might have an heir in the oven somewhere. Maybe he secretly bats for the other side like Celene does with her elven maid, nothing wrong with that. He did go overboard with his mourning of Duncan's death. Shrugging shoulders here.
So Ferelden won't be the only country without an heir soon. Hawke has disappeared so there is no heir for Kirkwall either if you side with the Templars. Sebastian may or may not be Prince of Starkhaven so who knows there. He can't get up off his knees long enough to give it a go to find out for sure. Geez, the marriage thing between him and female Hawke was annoying as heck.
All of this will certainly bring Chaos for sure in the future.

If you're referring to King Alistair that rules alone, then that's understandable, otherwise he can marry Anora or a female noble Warden in Origins. The only child he'll have is the one Morrigan conceived durting the DR. Short of adopting, the taint greatly reduces his chances of having an heir.
Yea but Alistair doesn't know that the only child he can have is the OGB. Fiona had a kid while she was a Warden so Wardens can have children. Maybe Alistair remembers what is was like to grow up a fatherless bastard and doesn't want his kid to grow up like that.
Fiona had very specific circumstances surrounding her pregnancy, however. You can't hold her up to prove that Wardens can have children when all the available evidence indicates that she was NO LONGER afflicted with the taint when she became pregnant.
Besides, it isn't said that Wardens absolutely cannot have children, ever. Only that it is extremely difficult for them to do so and that the chances become even more remote with two Warden parents.

If I remember from the book correctly, she was still tainted when she got pregnant in the deep roads when her and Maric do their thing. She was a warden then. We are not told until later in the book that she no longer has the taint until she brings her child to Maric. So did giving birth cure her of the taint or her being an elf make it so. Velanna also mentions with her gifts to her (the writing gifts) she will also have children and the warden does not contradict her in Awakenings, that she might not have children. Velanna is also an elf.

So it's been 10 years since Origins and Alistair still doesn't have a wife I can't imagine its because of a lack of suitors. There are quite a few landless nobles he could marry and if all else fails, marry a foreigner like Eamon did. Considering that his calling at this point is coming up in the next decade or so you would expect at him to try to find a spouse ASAP, but there doesn't seem to be any sense of urgency to it. Im sure he remembers the last time a monarch died childless and heirless.
He could be married to Anora if you went that route and he can also marry the Female Cousland Warden. It's also possible that he can keep a non female cousland warden as a mistress but even fans knowing that she's a mistress, they'd probably still freak the hell out if they tried to cannonize him marrying another if he's not already married to Anora or Cousland.

I fancy myself pretty good at ferreting out dev quotes using Google search parameters, and I'm forced to agree with this. The only references I've found to this are other players claiming this is something DG has said with no one quoting an actual source.eluvianix wrote...
Trust me, it's not even remotely true. The devs have said nothing like that.Bedevil123 wrote...
