I thought he was going to imply something going on with Isabela and Alistair in the comics but he didn't. I think he likes Alistair and wants to keep him single.
Why hasnt Alistair gotten married yet?

Maybe he is but we just don't know about it ,or maybe because he don't want marry woman that he doesn't love as he is such type of person.
I think the first one's more likely.
Alistair is either too weak to avoid having a wife more or less forced on him, or pragmatic enough to take a wife even if he doesn't love her for the good of the royal line depending on whether or not you harden him.

Unfortunately, kings don't have that luxury. It's Alistair duty to put aside sentimentality and produce an heir, willfully avoiding this is a gross abdication of duty, especially considering he witnessed first hand what can happen when a king dies heirless. Same goes for Anora.

Well you need as far i renember good persuasion skills to convince him to marry anora and that was during the blight not to mention that if you romance him he is rather type that want love from partner...

Well if you won't harden him he will rather reserved when it comes to his job so i doubt that he would care about it.

Coming from someone who detests the "royal blood" trope, it would be a shame if the Therin bloodline came to an end due to Alistair's stubbornness.

Well to be honest blood hardly matters well it only matters for nobles because it is silly tradition leader shouldn't selected by blood only by competence.

I absolutely agree, hence why I despise the trope.
But a big deal was made about preserving that bloodline in Origins and I hate to see it come to nothing because Alistair can't get his sh*t together.

"Darkspawn DLC" snafu?
Hehehe, that was a great moment though.
(Tips hat toward Hurlock Vanguard and BioWare for taking a risk and not completely screwing everything up)

Dose it really matter? As a Warden his chance of having a kid is next to none anyway.

He has precisely as much chance of having a kid as the writers want him to for the purposes of the story.

They hardly even acknowledge the marriage he has if you marry him to Anora. Hope they do something with that in Inquisition. Then again, I guess it IS kind of the point if you marry 'em that Alistair is the one out doing things like having adventures with Varric and Isabella and going to Kirkwall personally for a five minute conversation that could've been done via letters while Anora is actually running the country.

He's married in most of my games to my Warden.
In the ones that he's not, he's usually dead, lol.

It was never actually confirmed that Anora was barren. Strongly suggested and entirely probable, but never 100% confirmed as far as I'm aware.
For all we know, Cailen may have been sterile; after all, we never hear of any bastard kids of his despite confirmation that he was cheating.

The real question is, do we want another mini-allistair running around thedas?

Well, he does use marriage as a reason for ending a relationship with a non noble warden, so I guess it does have some relevance. I personally don't mind him not marrying....less competition for my wardens that keep seeing him.

To be honest Meric was not all that impresive himself. It was Logain that did everything. Meric never did anything great on his own other than fall for elves.

I think the point of making Anora barren, and the Wardens being very unlikely to reproduce was to set up one of Maric's other bastards for the throne in the future. There's Fiona's baby, Alistair, I'm pretty sure he's had some other women on the side. This makes it easier to "hand wave" such significant player decisions down the line. And I'm cool with that.
You make a very good point. Anora doesn't remarry either if you put her as a sole ruler on the throne.
Sounds like its all for the sake of the plot ![]()
