I'd burn them both in arcane fire, tbh. Nothing to debate about as far as I'm concerned.

@leaguer of one: he was joking. I stated in this very thread that I'd burn Fiona and Adrian. That doesn't mean I'd do it, and I'm neutral on the mage-templar scale.

Oh you were joking?

I was quite serious.:(

I'm neutral and I would definitly kill Adrian

I'm still debating on Fiona

When Rhys was debating whether or not to kick her off the ledge in Asunder, I was yelling at the top my lungs for him to do it. I HATE Adrian.

Awww.  I felt sorry for Adrian.  She's definitely a product of a failed Circle system.  But I wouldn't be surprised if we get to see her and interact with her in Inquisition.  Maybe you'll have the chance to kick her off a ledge yourself.

She's not unlike Annie.  Weren't you telling me to leave her alone because she's had a hard life?

Because I have seen few people like JB here.

There are no people like me. There is only me.

I've waited years to say that! Thank you.

You're welcome . Do not ever get me wrong, I'd never dislike a person just because we don't agree especially when its a game. You're a rival to me at best, and one with good points (not always! :|) Even if not really an anti-mage you show more hate towards mages than love towards circles, more than most people, I know only 2 others who hate them more than you do.

You may be really a pro-circle and not anti-mage but you are not showing it.

It sounds more like you just hate the character and are trying to justify it by dismissing her as an authorial favorite.  Again, we don't know anything about Fiona between the end of The Calling and the end of Asunder.  Her role in the latter book are extremely small and tell us precious little about what she has been doing in all this time.  She could well have things in her past over that period which add up to her being morally grey as the rest of them.  Even so, I still find it weird that you are so hellbent on labeling any character which doesn't engage in acts that are something other than morally good as author favorites.

Beyond that, what you describe is the mark of a cunning and capable leader; being able to take the credit  while keeping her hands clean--or apparently clean--is what shrewd rulers DO.  That's not a mark of being an author's darling.

First of all I said there is signs of being author's favorite I didn't say she is, only time will tell. If she really remians the leader of Rebellion and plays a major role in DA:I then she might really be an Author's favorite. And I never said she is an angel, she might be smart but she does not hesitate even for a second to use her cunning to achieve her goal. So she is quite relentless not shrewd.

Ok, fine, prove it. Dig up some posts of mine where I showed hate towards mages for no reason other than being mages; not distrust, not cautiousness, HATE. Since I show so much of it, it shouldn't be that hard.
And hate towards a particular mage for their actions doesn't count.

And I maintain that saying because a character has not been shown to engage in actions that are morally questionable that that is "clear" evidence of being an author's favorite is astoundingly ridiculous logic.  It's not evidence of any such thing.

@Rassler: how is relevant what the templars would do with MisterJB's opinion?

He thinks war with Templars is wrong when the only reason for war is change yet he suggests changes? We both know Templars would not change under any circumstance. During a thousand year they have made it worse and worse for the mages.

How dare you compare her to Annie...They might be similar, but let me tell you, I have never felt such unholy rage compared to what I feel towards Adrian.

Please, I wouldn't go and dig others post even if it was an order from god itself.

You cannot hate someone you don't know and the only known mage you didn't hate so far is Wynne. I've seen you hate all the other mages known to us. Though after events of Asunder I suspect you like Wynne much less.

Are we getting back the the double standard of "generalize all Templars, but don't do it to mages"?

No it's not. the war is for complete and total removal of the Circle, which is very much necessary, imo.

yet he suggests changes?

Don't see the point. They aren't the same changes either way. That's like comparig doing no work while in the office and wanting causal Fridays.

We both know Templars would not change under any circumstance.

No we don't.

During a thousand year they have made it worse and worse for the mages.

No proof of this either. Another case of citing the extremes as examples of the average.

The reason of war isn't just 'change'. Mages don't want (as far as we know) to create a new system: they want to be completely free. It's obvious that MisterJB would be against it.
And it'a ultimately irrelevant that he would've preferred if mages didn't separate: mages are out of the Circle now, and he still think that a Circle system with changes from the previous should be formed.

Not generalize. The condition of cirlces has been getting worse duirng the thousand year of Templar rule. This is a fact. Circles were much better at the beginning. So either the majority of Templars or some of their leaders applied harsher methods and the potentional good ones who came after did not revert them.

Anders: That's unfortunate. Hating someone just because they're a mage is a shameful thing.
Carver: I don't hate you because you're a mage. I hate you because you won't shut up about it.

There is no proof for many things yet there are references that tells us cricles of old had better conditions, most likely they had conditions like Ferelden circle. If not all at least some of the cricles have gone bad over the long time.

So, you accuse me of something and when I ask for your evidence, you refuse to present it.
Right...

First, you can definitely hate someone you don't know. There are tons of groups out there that hate groups of people in general despite not knowing every single person in said group.

Second, I'd ask you for evidence that the only mage I don't hate is Wynne but I already know you won't present it.
So, I'll just say there are more mages that I don't hate than those that I do hate. Would it surprise you to know that my favorite character is Morrigan and that my Canon Warden had her as an LI and performed the Dark Ritual?

So what you're saying is, "I don't know, but probably, so let's just go with it." Using this logic, Circles have also gotten better over time, because the one in Fereldan is good and there is a reference to mages leaving, so every Circle does the same.
