Yes you can do that but you won't gain his voice in landsmeet and at this point we shouldn't know that hardly matters.

One of the worst I said, though I say it easily falls under torture considering the psychological trauma a victim would incure from the incident.

Lol, what the hell do I care about getting his voice at the Landsmeet anyway? No army is going to turn tail and run from the Blight because the no good son of a dead arl is trapped or dead in his own dungeon. That's likely to have as much impact on the war effort as making a hurricane change course by farting in its general direction. I giveth no fecal matter, my good man.

Nah just your emotional reaction make you think that certainly you would classify thas as torture but rather "softer" one as this left psychological scars there are much worse kind of tortures than that. And death is final.

Well maybe you don't care but nobles ,ferelden and traditions do he was arl of denerim son and now his successor so his voice was useful and point of landsmeet was kick out loghain from ruling position so we could successfully kill archdemon and blight if failed army will just follow loghain and they will lost.

My lack of faith in his significance is vindicated by his absence continuing to go unnoticed once the Landsmeet is concluded.
As i said his disappearance doesn't matter but his presence yes by ferelden law he is new arl of denerim and having voice of arl of denerim is useful especially that you killed previous like it or not his voice matters on landsmeet so killing him because he is rapist (and you don't know that in that point) isn't very practical choice but rather emotional response like alistair on loghain choice.

And what queen only gives you voice but having queen doesn't mean that you will win besides at this point you don't know if you will get her support every voice matters like it or no you need at least 5 voices in landsmeet to win with loghain. And still 5 voices are better than 4 and 6 better than 5.

Indeed. One wonders if this was planned for ahead of time though, or if they're making it up as they go. Moreover, most succesful guerilla warfare is done around home where you can hide among friends and family and feed yourself...
Where will the mages hide? What will they eat? They're strangers everywhere.
I'm terribly curious what the answer to that question is.

Well
Fiona indeed manipulates the system but not to get what she wants but
to get what most mages want. Biggest mage fraternities Liberitarians and
Aequitarians back her up, that is like close to 70% of all mages.
If the majority of the mages wants it, why did she lose the vote though?
I don't pretend Circles are perfect or even that great to live in. An aura of palpable fear can't be anything but unbearable, regardless of a full stomach, good clothing and decent bedding. But the last time the college of magi in it's entirety voted they voted not to secede. When she won the vote only the heads of the fraternities cast their votes for their entire groups (and in praxis, whatever Rhys would have voted for would have won).
It's possibly they voted the way they did the first time out of fear, sure. It's possible that she honestly thought the circumstances had changed enough to warrant the vote being redone (probably due to the college being shut down, rather than the Tranquility cure). It's also possible she intentionally made sure the mages would vote as she desired, regardless of whether most mages wanted to or not.
I don't know which. I am terribly curious to finidng out what kind of politician she is. I'm fairly certain she has the well being of mages as her first priority. I'm just wondeirng how clean a game she plays.

I'm terribly curious what the answer to that question is.
Instead of hiding among family, chances are they'll hide in remote regions, like deep in the forest or mountains, both of which provide plenty of cover to hide and sustenance to eat. Just look at the Dalish. They've been doing it for centuries.

The thing about remote regions is that there's usually a reason they're remote. It's usually tied to limited means to acquire food. Places with easily acquired tend to be settled. But maybe the mages are few enough in numbers for that not to be a problem.
Of course... this raises another two interesting questions... will the Dalish accept competing over the same areas as the mages? What will the mages have to hit in order to actually hurt the templars if they're hiding in remote regions?

I figured that they would break into small cells, so that's not a real problem. Once set up, the mages primary targets should be the supply chains, especially the lyrium ones. Take away the lyrium, and a Templar is just a guy with a sword as Alistair put it, but also suffering withdrawls and thus easier to hit.Sir JK wrote...

As for the Dalish, that's the interesting part. Will they leave the mages alone, or will the concurrent civil unrest with the elves cause the two to work together in an 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' situation.
