So we're vilifying Fiona because she distrusted human nobles, after being repeatedly raped, abused, tortured, and dehumanized for years by one?

More like seeing it as idiotic.  Or is it ok to hate everyone because one guy screwed you over?  Everyone should remember this next time a mage screws up.  Then they can hate them all.

Of course, I'm not sure why I'm bothering.  You've shown elves are basically justified to do whatever because humans are bad.

There's a difference between being cautious around a type of people and straight up "F- you because you remind me of what I loathe."

You said it yourself... ONE.

I hate an number of people, I don't go around assuming people with even a remotely similar background should be hated because of that.

Yes its very easy to see how a person could feel that way... The point isn't that she does feel that way and she should or shouldn't be like that.

But that is not the case at all. The real point is a person with those kind of feelings is a terrible leader because they let their feelings control them not their heads.

At least both sides are in the same boat in that respect. Mages with Fiona, Templars with Lambert. Both have leadership figures who tend to let their emotions get the better of them sometimes.

She is a mage, is isn't allowed to judge a group becasue of one bad experince, ignoring the fact that most nobles aren't actually all the noble.

I wonder if all those forumites who claim Meredith is unfit to lead because of her negative past experiences with mages would say the same about Fiona.

Even if Meredith was out of control, her experiences did make her a good fit for the job.

No, but they can launch operations from remote areas to attack the shipping lanes, then retreat back into the woodwork.

As I said, relationships between the Dalish and Orlais are strenuous at best right now, and since every group who can be at war seems to be in Inquisition, I wouldn't be surprised if these two reach a boiling point. Thus, better to have the mages on your side to help with Orlais rather thn face them on their own. In exchange, Dalish help mages with Templars.

Perhaps. Personally I suspect that while they might camp in the wilds, I doubt it'll be in remote regions. But regardless, we should steer this back to Fiona... as interesting as this is.

I think we were using different words for the same things. When I said remote regions, I meant things like the wilds. Just felt like clarifying.

Up until she got a hold of that Red Lyrium, I actually never had a real problem with Meredith. She was extreme and strict, but that comes with the role of Knight Commander. And she had a line drawn in the sand on what was acceptable, as shown when Alrik's Tranquil Solution crossed that line and she rejected it.

Well for one Fiona did change her opinion even if it was just a little. Meredith refused to see mages as nothing but blood mages and monsters. I don't think Meredith would have had a child with a mage. Do you?

If you treated him right, as friend or romance, you could temper his views, so that he really can change. I did it as a mage character.

You sure haven't mentioned anyone else but Fiona. Though you haven't defended Fenris either. Oh yeah forgot one, Meredith.

Indeed. She seems more a woman who would put duty ahead of love.

Makes sense I wouldn't bring Meredith or Fenris into a thread that's discussing Fiona.  Doesn't it?

Probably not. It was just an example. After all Fiona did change her views on at least one noble and that is a start. You can't expect someone who suffered years of horrific abuse to change over night.

Well if you are going to damn one character for something you need to damn the others for it too.

The funny part is he never advocated killing them all.  You must be confusing him with TKS.

Find me a single post where I have ever said all mages are evil or advocated killing them. Because there is one where you claimed a character sees all mages as monsters on this very page.
Go on. Actually back up your claims for once.

By 'in anyway', do you mean 'a system in which those with magical capabilities are given a place to learn how to control their talents'?
