This article seems to suggest we'll visit: Ferelden, the Free Marches, Nevarra, Orlais and The Dales.

Did we know about Nevarra and The Dales before or is this new information?

The only places officially confirmed are Ferelden and Orlais, I think.

It seems to me like the author is just making a few guesses based on the concept art and not something that Bioware confirmed 100%.

It's to do with the map shown at PAX, right?

The Dales technically are IN Orlais, and are currently property of the Chantry. So it stands to reason we'll be traveling in and or through them at one point.

The Dales are property of the Chantry ? Aren't they a part of the Orlesian Empire ?

It's only confirmed that we will go to Ferelden and Orlais but I guarantee we'll see Navara and the Free Marches.

That's a relief, if it was shallower and narrower than the last game, there would be one city with one neighborhood, and a single outdoor area.

I kid, I kid.

Holiday celebrations! (Ah, MMO memories.)

If Santa Claus was that butt-ugly, I'd leave him grenades instead of cookies when he came down the chimney.

More interesting question ... day/night cycle? Or will we simply be able to move back and forth between night-time and day-time as if they were physical areas?

I never really gave it much thought, but I really would like to see the weather change from time to time, and not just rain or shine, but snow too, depending on where you are.

Weather and day/night cycles make for nice ambience ... of course, people will say the zots to put them in are less important than stuff to make the 'actual' game-story play out.

Little touches can matter. Part of my love for BG2 was hearing the city come to life as the sun came up, or the changes you saw as it went down. Or seeing normally dreary places "feel" even worse once it started to rain.

The only places where we saw snow were Ostagar, Haven (really the mountaintop temple), and Soldier's Peak. Not a snowflake since the end of the Blight.

For some reason, I'd be really surprised if we don't see any of Tevinter...

Yes, I'm seeing a bunch of guess work.

Not to mention they apparently don't recall that Dragon Age: Origin had frozen mountains, deep forests, swamps, prison, and ancient ruins.

No all of that is new, well except the apparently only going to 5 providence, they haven't given a specific number or even confirmed anything besides Fereldan and Orliais.

Not confirmed

1. The Free marches- Numerous other articles mentioned them, they were on the map loading screen from the demo, and on another map from a video.

2. Nevarra- Mentioned in numerous other articles, showed off on the map loading screen, sort shown on a map as part of a video like the other one, sort of hinted at during one of the old tweets from a dev.

3. Tevinter/ parts of Tevinter/ places owned or once owned by them- Mentioned in numerous other articles, Mentioned by Mark Darrah in an interview with Adam Sesslar, apparently mentioned by Gaider during pax east 2011, and said that the Venatori is looking for ancient secrets from Tevinter.

4. Arthlan- the concept art.

5. Dales, abor wilds, and some other places- Tweet captions and concepts.

All they've said is many of them and different culture and stuff like that.

There's a dynamic weather system in place, rain, snow, sandstorms, the night cycle seems like it will be like the one in DA2 or like some other rpg's that let us choose them and have a natural one.

Bogs, mountain ranges, the frost back pass, marshes, Hashrin Marshes, desserts, western approach amoung other environments.
