Absolutely, all you need is a slight mod on the xbox and you can fill it with hundreds of free games.

Piracy is a problem for all platforms (except for the Wii I guess, who gives a s*** about the Wii?)

Although isnt even having slight tweeks to your xbox akin to setting a bonfire for mods to ban you?

That is more like a yearly purge, and an easy bypass is just having an xbox for all single player games not connected to the internet.  Having another legit xbox for the 2-3 multiplayer games that they actually payed for.

This is expected for ANY Blockbuster game coming out. MW 2 got leaked even earlier from its release date than ME 2 and by the time the game was out, people were already had many achievements unlocked on it.

I can wait! I already paid GS my 70 bucks for my CE. Besides who knows how much viruses and spyware are in torrents anyway.

Edit: Ahh, dang, I guess Im not sneaky enough to have one for offline use. That and my parents raised me right.

Many young (teenage) console users these days will likely see an exclusively Single player experience to be a total waste of money.  They would definitely sooner turn to renting or pirating than ever dishing out more than 10 dollars for a game like that.

Actually, you don't even need a "mod" you just flash the firmware on your xbox - if it has a liteon drive. and thats it.

But, you'll xbox will get banned. There is no modchip, or firmware that is undetectable anymore.

The only game I've ever pirated is Planescape Torment (recently, like last year, very few alternatives to getting that game these days).  "Pirating" has it's good-side, it allows you to get software that has otherwise been totally discontinued and unattainable through conventional means.

Many young teenagers don't mess with their xbox. The "pirates" on consoles are generally over the age of 18.

Ah, but that is the thing.  Many jack-ass pirateers will offer 120 GB HDD's or xbox bundles that already have the games installed and ready to go.

For something like 100 bucks, essentially offering a bundle that saves those kids thousands of dollars in games.
