For something like 100 bucks, essentially offering a bundle that saves those kids thousands of dollars in games.

A lot of these are also fake, which is pretty funny. But those are if you buy from really shady people.

 That's actually useally a big problem with big release Torrents.... They know alot of people are gonna be hitting leaching them its a perfect set up for them to dl them and get hit something nice and nasty.... to me dling the ones with fewer hits useally gives me less problems... besides Downloading the cracked version always... well almost always have problems.... And they are almost impossible to patch because of the way the code useally get restructed to route the cd checks or the dreaded SecuROM "The Bioshock Nightmare"... not to mention cracked versions useally have problems with DLC's as well....

In my past i've tried torrenting and tbh the amount of crap you have to deal with to get those cracks to work is just to much damn trouble.. to almost not be worth it...  i used to do it a few years about and after hours and hours of trying to get some of them to work and redoing .exe's i just gave up and desided that if thought it was good enough I bought it! and if i thought it wasn't.... i didn't...

Warning to all those that try to torrent... At the end of the day unless your really really broke or just that cheap... Its just not worth the headache... That's my experance

The only game I've ever pirated is Planescape Torment (recently, like last year, very few alternatives to getting that game these days).  "Pirating" has it's good-side, it allows you to get software that has otherwise been totally discontinued and unattainable through conventional means.

Dude Planescape Torment was suuuuch a good game!

All you need is a copy of the disc, which are easily available through the same dealers.

Xbox360s have disc checks, thats correct, but also has more then just a "disc" check. You cannot play the game off the hard drive. You need to actually have a copy of the disc.

If it's a burned copy you generally install an "autoloader" which tricks the xbox into thinking it passed the disc check (like the old school PS1 Swap method for imported games)

Yeah, because increased revenue caused by Bioware doesn't cause EA to further increase their production budget and overall quality.

Your right, even tho youre attempting to be sarcastic. EA is a selfish company. Mass Effect 2 will sell well, even if 10,000 people steal it off the interwebs.

Agreed, Bioware is just about the only studio i can think of that i have openly supported all the releases of to date since BG2.... And will probably continue to do so outside of the that MMO release... the only thing that would make me a happier bioware fan would be to see BG3... Like that's ever gonna happen... but still ; ; I just miss Boo

True, I don't actually know the mechanics of how this s*** works, but I know plenty of people who do this crap.  Hell, I even know that kid that was arrested and convicted for selling "pirated" xboxes full of games.  Christian Del Amo, his name was on even game sites like Gamespot.

Good for him, that's what he gets for selling copied games, that most people could not play in their consoles.

To be honest is is piracy a big problem anyway? As most real gamers who download illegally go and buy the game if they really enjoyed the game. So from what the most of the reviews are saying most impatient ppl will be buying the game after they've played it. I'm waiting due to me ordering the digital deluxe edition and on a cracked version I wont get my extras that i payed extra for  . But if I went and downloaded it now would it be wrong as I have already payed ea 45 pounds a few weeks ago (I'm not downloading it for the aforementioned reason but hypothetically I wouldnt be stealing as ea has my 45pounds already )

But your neglecting the fact EA is ran like a business, by business men. Not gamers, they most likely will not INCREASE the budget at all. Just continue to hand over their monthly check to bioware. I'm sure bioware gets bonuses of a certain percentage.

This is correct.

Most "pirates" or gamers generally do buy the games. Its just an exscuse for companies to throw around. See for PC gamers. espeically oldschool PC gamers such as I, we remember the days of DEMOS, you know TRY OUT the game before you buy it.

Demos hardly exist anymore on the PC scene. But their coming back, with dark void etc.

But the fact is, for example, I would of downloaded dark void, played it for an hour then deleted it off my PC and never touch it again, but I did not have to do that, because I downloaded the demo.

In the multiple 'scene'  or 'pirate' forums, almost ALL people have pre-ordered the game. Why? They dont need a ****ing demo, becuase its bioware, thats why. Do you even know how WELL respected bioware is esepically to PC gamers?

They gave us BG/BG2/NWN/ and so forth.

Even the "pirates" have high respect for bioware, and this is one of the VERY few companies who have  not turned thier back on the PC community. Unlike ****ty companies like epic.

I lost my CD key for ME1 back in the day. I bought another copy so i could DL bring down the sky. Only reason i'd do that is because i respect Bioware and their product. I'm buying ME2, I'll buy the DLC for ME2 and make sure others do too.



If we manage to track any illegal DLs to Melbourne Australia i'm happy to call the cousins in for an interrupt or two. With a master of Intelectual Property law and Police Officer both members of the family i'm sure we could find a legal way to seize their rig and smash it apart or soemthing in that vein.
