U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! I'm not too worried about Portugal, after watching Germany run them over. USA vs Germany is something to look forward to, I might take the day off.
I'd be happy to play as Shepard again, or a new protagonist. I doesn't matter, I just want more Mass Effect.
Ah, I'm still worried. We're not quite on the same level as the Portuguese (and Ronaldo) or the Germans (even after Ghana took them down a peg via a draw and shot down the German estimation that it would be a wipeout victory for them). My favorites for the World Cup are Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. I also support Costa Rica, Japan, Mexico, and the U.S. of course. I'd like to see the Azzurri do alright, since I don't hate them like most others. I was happy to see the German's best player on the ground bleeding. Ghana took advantage of their weakness - the Germans (since I can't use the... 'nicknames' for them that I'd like to use) can't play defensively. Glass cannon is what they are. No one's better at deconstructing an opposing defense, but their own is extremely fragile. And the Ghanaian's took advantage of that. They weren't playing to win necessarily, just not to lose. And they succeeded. I hope the U.S. team manager (a German) takes advantage of that as well; You're not going to beat their offense, so focus on their defense.
Of course, I suppose it might be nature, but the Germans will start playing dirty when it gets urgent. That's how you know they're under pressure. Like the Azzurri. They don't panic, but they start playing rough and hard.
The Socceroos are out which sucks, but the Australians just aren't that good at Soccer (or Football if you want to call it that), so it wasn't a surprise. I'd also like to see the African teams do well. And I always support our South American brothers. I just don't want to see a European team win (specifically the Germans or the Azzurri). Again. Unless it's England.
