Bring back the feeling of being a single person in a huge galactic community and it actually feeling that way?

This I agree with, but not because of your first point, I found those unexplored planets to be terribly executed.

When every planet is very similar and all the 'buildings' are very similar, it's kind of a cop out.

ME1 was great but the side missions were mostly an afterthought it seemed. I think some of them could have been more involved at bit that you clearing this are or that area. And realistically, what planet has just ONE building on it? That's just absurd. There should be colonies. Maybe you had to fight batarian slavers trying to abduct the colony. Not a huge deal to design some buildings and landscape then you're fighting the batarians after getting a signal when in the system. At the end, you free the people. Quick cut scene. Great fun!

The thing they made a big deal of was how these colonies in the terminus systems weren't safe but it was our only choice. They could work with that and have colonies all over where you are helping different ones against different elements. Slavers. Mercs. Whatever. Then even have a few ships that have those pirates where you are saving the ship. Still gives you a kind of lonely feeling of you doing it on your own but it's more interesting. Given the money they spend on cut scenes for ME3, I think for 4 they should have better side missions that are actually decent fights and better designed. None of this lazy stuff where it's a replica.
