I hope the entire cast of the next game just dies in one perilous journey. I really don't care, just so long as it's well done.

Hmm yeah, if you want to pay $60 for your "bliss", go buy a Disney game. Or you can save your money and be depressed for free (as you put it). And all of us who are actually looking forward to the next game don't have to worry about fans with complaints such as yours holding back the writers creativity by making them feel the need to give you a "happy" rainbow filled ending.
This so much.
Anything could happen in the next game as long as it's done well. If someone wants sunshine and unicorns they should go invest their time in different series, rather than expecting a company to bend over backwards to their expectations simply because.

I suppose it's up to me to complete the cycle by declaring this a zero-sum game. Either RPGs are limited the way Massa FX requested them to be, or they're not.

Too bad. The next game we fight and possibly kill evil Benezia-akin versions of our friends from the Mass Effect Trilogy.
How's that for happy, or rather the opposite of it.

I was waiting for someone to assume that everything is about them, so I can just throw this in here:

You see, I never said that if you don't like the endings then you want a Disney ending. However, in this guys case, he wants "bliss". Disney endings are full of bliss.

aww how cute. You picked one sad ending out of the entire library. Nice. Also, we all know when Disney is brought up we're referring to their bread and butter, how they made their name: Animated Classics. Cuz you know they be getting all hardcore and dramatic with their live-action films yo.iakus wrote...

Besides....I'm pretty sure there's not an Old Yeller video game. Disney games are marketed towards the kiddies. Wouldn't want to traumatize the little ones by forcing them to put their rabid dog out of it's misery at the end.

literally spells out "sex" on screen while Simba and Nala are playing in the Lion King. The priest has a boner at the Little Mermaids wedding. There's a rock solid shaft as one King Triton's castle towers on the original cover of the VHS.MassivelyEffective0730 wrote...

Full of sex? That's rather subjective. But it's there.

Bambi, also. But yes, when people reference Disney endings, they are basically referring to the generally happy spin so sure, there are sad endings, but that will never ride high in the reference, and to be fair, most Disney endings are happy.
But the 'Disney' ending arguement was mostly formed by the mindless faction of the pro-enders (be careful, I did not say that all pro-enders were mindless), to insult those who were critical of Mass Effect. Which is why it is enjoyable to make fun of them by counter-referring to them as emo, Cure listeners, who want to razor-blade their wrists because it is 'better than a happy ending.
Hyperbole always has its counter, and that's why the internet is fun and insulting!

Bridge to Terabithia
The Fox and the Hound (okay, less depressing than the end to the original story)
Toy Story 3

Take your bliss and find it somewhere else. I want a well-done and polished game. Not some happy crap reunion kiss with my L.I. with all my squadmates clapping. I think we found out how far such 'cheese' gets us. (Citadel DLC)
Call whoever you want "mindless". I actually hated the endings way back when. So your label doesn't fit. I have debated and discussed how the ending makes sense countless times over the past 2 years. I can do it all day. I have no problem with those that disagree or have a different view.
But if you're just gonna throw it out there that you're not paying $60 unless you get your blissful ending (whether that be Disney's animated classics or Michael Bay's summer blockbusters), I'm just gonna throw it out there for you to take that crap somewhere else.

And given how popular Citadel was, and how popular the endings (with or without EC) wasn't, I think a little extra cheese wouldn't be amiss in future Bioware endings.
Because as I've said before: If that was "art", I'd rather have entertainment.
