I don't disagree about the fact that Anders manipulated Hawke, but Anders' opposition to the Chantry seems to be limited to the issue of mages. Anders is spouting Andrastian dogma when he's talking about Spirits and Demons being the First Children of the Maker during his religious arguments with Merrill; his disagreement with the Chantry seems to be focused only on the treatment of mages, rather than anything else - such as their religious teachings (which impact the points of view).

Given Anders' inclination to genuinely believe in their religious teachings (to the point of continually trying to change the mind of a Dalish elf and convert her to the Andrastian view), I don't see Anders being that opposed to the Chantry.

But in Legacy he says he does not believe Cory is one of the magisters who went to the Golden city until he sees the amulet.

Which contradicts what Anders says in Awakening and vanilla Dragon Age II, where he believes in the fable of the Golden City.

Where do we even see him mention the Golden City at all in vanilla DA2?

Maybe she went desparate after the chantry incident or maybe she just used it as excuse to kill people as blood sacrifice. As you approach that mage dozens of demons come out of no where and a bloody pride demon comes too. I shat my pants in this battle on nightmare difficulty, on the very first time that is.

To be fair, the Pride Demon's always there and isn't the result of her summoning him and to date no Mage has been capable of controlling Pride Demons.

That is a fair point. Every creature of Pride we have seen has smacked down any mage that has tried to control it. Uldred tried, and then got turned into an abomination.

However...the one spotty bit of Pride demon relations was the Baroness. The dialogue holds that she "became a pride demon", which I found to be a tad...concerning. She fed off the lives of the Blackmarsh whilst they were all cursed within the Fade. Could that have led to a transformation into an actual demon?

That is exactly what it means.

Tell this to the said good leaders who have actually used such incidents to achieve morally good goals. I'm just pointing out the fact that this is not the first time it happens.

What kind of batcrap crazy logic is that? I have never encountered any faction which willing associates itself with attacking civilian targets to achieve their aims, outside of two countries openly at war with one another.

Namely, because it always fails. So please elucidate one example of a major faction in history which has openly alligned itself with a terrorist organisation.

A major faction in history which has used what a terrorist has done to further a noble goal? Very easy.

John Brown. He was a white American abolitionist who believed armed insurrection was the only way to overthrow the institution of slavery in the United States. He outright murdered slavers in cold blood and removed key supporters of slavery from existence making it much easier for anti-slavers to win.

After 150 years people still debate whether john brown was a terrorist or a true freedom fighter and visionary. But this doesn't change the fact that American leaders used his "achievements" and took advantage of them.

If you mean secessionists used him as an excuse to spark a civil war, sure. American leaders took advantage of him. For unionists opposed to the prospect of a civil war, people like Abraham Lincoln, John Brown was a hinderance who provided them nothing of value.

Well, if I ever intend to take the Divine out, my own plan would surely succeed.
That rogue agent was sloppy, and his blood magic was half assed.

"Rogue Agent" Where's that turian councilor when I need him?

But hey, I have no love lost for Justinia since she decided to backstab her own people. Don't let me stop you.

When you say she backstabbed her own people, do you mean Lambert?

He's referring to how both Leliana (Justinia's agent) and Cole killed templars when they infiltrated the White Spire to free the mages.

Ah. A fight the enemy, not their people type of thing. Idealistic, but not far from how I feel in general.

Also, I have to add that while that mage who tried to kill Justinia was a terrorist (and a dumb***). He was just as much a tool for someone else as he was for his own cause. Which probably is a poor reflection on mages, but means Anders may not have directly inspired him, but rather gave fodder to his own enemies.

Thanks, Anders. <_<

When a topic has the word "Anders" in it the rest of the words in title are irrelevant.

In part but I was also referring to how Justinia aided in the escape of the mages which lead to the current war. That I see as a betrayal of normal people in general, hers and Leliana's and Evangeline's own people.

Non mages are not a seperate race, you may think they are but that does'nt make it so.

Justinia,Leliana,and Evangeline did'nt "betray" anyone.

I have to agree with cjones91 on that.

Plus while not open conflict, the war had already started. The mage who attacked Justinia didn't get there on his own. He had Templar help, and likely had anti-Justinian internal Chantry help which either/or is quite possibly linked to Gaspard de Chalons.

It's nitpicking since "neglecting to tell" isn't straight in your face lying.
