Kind of an odd question. Whatever you think of Anders, positive or negative, he IS manipulative, full stop. It's no more up for debate than Fenris's hair color.

 I'd say yeah, Anders took a try at being manipulative. To my Hawke, he succeeded in manipulating her.

So yeah, I feel like the writer's can make my DAI character shocked when he does something crazy in the name of proving mages aren't crazy.

Really, sometimes protagonists are sooo dumb. Makes you wonder why they became a hero in the first place...<_<

You can choose to not help Anders if you see what he is about to do. What, did you want the option to kill or imprison Anders before he blows up the Chantry?

That's exactly what I'd wanted. I even ratted him out to Cullen and he didn't do nothin'....

Then, IMO, it's the Templars fault for not finding the bomb in time, not Hawke's.

I'm pretty sure you can warn the Grand Cleric, but she doesn't back down.

Actually, he did want the harem, at least before Justice took over.   I don't think he was entirely serious.

Awakening:

Anders: "All I want is a pretty girl, a decent meal, and the right to shoot lightning at fools."
Warden: "I think you're aiming too low."
Anders: "Fine. I want a harem, a feast and the right to rain fireballs on every templar I see."

On a more serious note, I have to chuckle when folks talk about the flirty and smartass side of Awakening Anders; yet choose to forget about that.  He was always angry and bitter.

For Inquisiton: I wonder if the more extreme mages heard the rumors about Anders and Justice and might think it's a good idea.  I wonder if we'll see more of spirit possessions/abominations running around.  I also have wondered if it's the Taint that's affecting Justice/Anders as much if not more than the union itself.

I used to really enjoy the Anders romance, but after joining the BSN and seeing all the hate, I decided to watch for the things people called him out on the next time I played, and.... holy crap.

I felt dirty doing the Justice mission. The way he blatantly played with Hawke's feelings for him, using her and crew to help make his magic-bomb, and then say there after the Chantry attack and pretty much says, "Yep, love, I played you like a cheap kazoo. Now knife me, if you have a pair "

It made me extremely uncomfortable, though I wound up completing the romance after sending him away for the first time, just because it was going to be my cannon world state. It's still a good story, but I won't let my Inquisitor get within twenty meters of the man. No way.

I wouldn't want her to back down. I'd want her to beef up security and not let a deranged, posessed blond dude with a beard in or around the vicinity of the building.

Then, like I said IMO, it's the Templars who **** the bed and couldn't stop Anders from planting the bomb.

Fenris has his problems, but I think he's more likely to do this.

He's like the Miranda Lawson of Dragon Age.
