After Leandra's death, if you click on Sebastian while he's in your party, he makes this comment;
"I am so sorry about your mother, Hawke. I've put a remembrance for her on the chantry's memorial wall."
But pretty much every one of your party members will say something consoling about Leandra's death at least once when you do that.
Isn't really any better than what Rivalmance Fenris had to say, I think it was more along the lines of him coming into your room saying he really didn't know what say. The end.

I don't think friendmance or rivalmance makes a difference. Fenris is not the consoling type lol
To be fair he doesn't even remember having a family so his awkwardness makes sense. And at least he's there.
I may be a bit generous with Fenris, but I interpreted him as saying that he didn't want to offer insincere platitudes, but that he was there if Hawke needed to talk.
Sebastian was rushed its true.
And about Fenris, he has much better lines to say to male Hawke. Its so obvious he wants a man not a woman. This is coming from a girl ![]()

Yeah, I kinda sensed that too, but my Hawke didn't let that get in the way of true lust, uh I mean love! ![]()
He says different things to a female Hawke?! I did not know that! ![]()
I can't remember what the "good" dialogue choice is. One of the three choices gets a more "tender" response from Fenris, though even the other two are very sincere. I love his opening line, "I... do not know what to say, but... I am here." (Or something like that.)
He means well, the sweetheart ![]()
And this is so off track, but I guess the OP's answer/concern has been answered. Meanie Sebastian!
The Sebastian romance is such a tease. Cute guy, sexy voice, and the best Hawke can get is a chaste marriage. Bioware writers, why are you so mean?!?! ![]()

Yeah I don't even understand the point of a "chaste marriage." Why get married in the first place? Unless one or both persons is asexual. Doesn't make sense.
I mean, I saw Sound of Music; I know how this holy romance stuff is supposed to end ![]()

Ask instead how they could be so merciful, I think...
Then again, I never liked Sebastian. His attempts to sound wise about religion and such don't mesh terribly well with his outbursts of violent temper and unfulfilled vows.

Yeah, I hear you. I think I would have rival-manced him had we been given a "real" romance option with him, especially if it allows me to hold him accountable for his BS. I hate the way he tries to proselytize everyone he meets, and I really wanted to hurl a fireball at him when he threatened to turn Anders in to the Templars. (Even Fenris wasn't willing to go that far.) All the while, he's helping my apostate mage Hawke in assisting runaway mages and other activities that I'm sure Elthina wouldn't approve of. He's just lucky he's so damn cute. I mean, I would have still liked to romance him, but I can't say I respect him, if that makes any sense. Then again, I imagine my pro-Andraste Hawke would have been a good match for him. Too bad I rival-manced her with Anders.

Yep, to me, a "chaste marriage" is like decaf coffee. What's the point?

Fenris can be very mean but he is very loyal to Hawke, which is the only reason I don't hate him. He is annoying but respectable. Anyway I think Anders' both romance routes are quite realistic as long as your Hawke fits that personality. I mean rivalmancing Anders with a mage doesn't make sense at all, to me anyway.

Well all LIs say different things to different gender Hawke not just Fenris.
For example Merril is reluctant if Hakwe is male, telling him its forbidden in Dalish. If Hawke is female she wont even mention that.
In my experience:
Anders is best with female or male
Fenris is bets with male
Merril is best with female
Isabela is best with male or male
Anders and Isabela are good in both genders.
Merril is best with female
Take that back, cur.
Take that back, cur.
Nope. A forbidden romance for good reasons is not always "exciting". Your child will be a mongrel accepted nowhere and both the humans and the Dalish will shun you.
Your boyfriend is a terrorist.
Your boyfriend is a terrorist.
I romanced all of them so I'm not Anders exclusive. And don't get me started please. Go back to you puny little epic good playthroughs that you cannot handle violence. Because in Thedas it fixes everything.
My Fhawke and Anders will make beautiful mage babies in process and be fugitives together as she says.

What are you on about? I was just mucking around, but then you went and called my halfbreed child a mongrel, and continued even further to call me puny for not advocating terrorism? You're crazier than your crazy-arse boyfriend, and he's pretty damn crazy.

Its Thedas. And you are judging a real person based on their in-game decisions without knowing who they are. Mind you I was not judging you because that baby is seen as a mongrel, all elfblooded humans are. And I called your PLAYHTHROUGH puny, not you. But you on the other hand targeted me all the way not my in game decisions. This conversation is done. Grow up.
No, you grow up. I hope the Templars catch your Hawke and string her up as an example.

Terrorist.
