Starting a new game here now and I just realized how much I hate that shepard survives so many insane falls...

I'm thinking about when they blow up the dreadnought in the very beginning, that's like a two story drop it seems. Shepard just gets right up. Then the geth dreadnought again much later, at least another story, yet that elevator drop will kill you! Then again on thessia (just happens to grab the wall? Seriously?)

And that fall when the Normandy fires at its target on Rannoch

Forgot that one. They were pretty over the top with these scenes. Even when I played it the first time I was pretty much WTF each time one of these falls happened since shepard just gets up and runs.

Then there's the whole getting hit with a reaper laser only to have some armor burned off. That's blows all credibility out the window. No wonder so many backed indoctrination theory. If you are playing normal or higher, a beam kills you just 15 minutes earlier or so. Now you get up and crawl away. Please explain that logic to me? What crack pipe were they smoking?

Shepard is immune to the Harbinger beams I guess. During the beam run they can actually go right through you and Shepard remains unscathed.

Yeah for some reason kaiden's triggered and no-one else's. I normally do the same so this was the first time I'd seen it. Hence my shep's bemused expression in the other thread.

Still, you did get a snicker out of me. Speaking of which, "fun" and "kaidon" don't really go together. Don't get me wrong, I like him. But he's not the kind of guy I would like to party with. I get the feeling he'd only make the party awkward.

Von Uber, you pretty much summed up how I felt when I made the mistake of meeting Kaidan for lunch before Liara. That whole situation is the worst romance setup in the series. You can break-up, lock-in, or switch lovers on the Citadel in the most awkward and poorly written way. I was in a faithful relationship with Liara and already rejected Kaidan in ME1 but he came onto me again in ME3. So did Diana Allers and Samantha Traynor. Don't these people get the memo?

Kaidan and Liara are the two characters in the series clearly in love with Shepard and you can sense the sexual tension there if you don't romance them.

At the party in the Citadel DLC he's very boring. And in the visit you get with him... he cooks...

Who do you think danced best at the party? I'd have to go with Tali. I watched her for quite a while.

Worst? I might say Liara. WTF was that? Some kind of zombie dance? She had some good moves at the casino date.

Quick question, if we got a lot of the intel that gave you bonuses in Liara's quarters in the first run of a game, what happens to them in the second one? Right now I'm on the second run with this character and there's nothing listed for upgrades.

It's one of those things you have to re-acquire.

You have to collect the intel again.

The only things that carry over is credits, weapon upgrades that were purchased and armor upgrades. If you have your weapons at level five, you can now increase them to level ten

The Reaper boss fight on Rannoch with Shepard surviving those near misses with liquified uranium, iron, and tungsten powered by a mass effect field and eezo, that is hitting a rock wall barely 10 feet behind him/her or the ground barely six to ten feet away from him/her. That searing heat does nothing to Shepard unless it's a direct hit.

And what's even more amazing is that it does nothing to that rock wall or the ground -- it doesn't even smolder. I want whatever that wall is made of for my ship's armor. If the Quarians built a bunker out of that stuff I think they'd be just fine.

This is why I said Mass Effect is an Arnold Movie made into a video game. It's got the one liners. It's got the ridiculous jumps. The interrupts. The bad dialogue. And the action. All that's missing is the thick Austrian accent.

I'm still sort of amazed they didn't throw in a poutine joke when he was talking about the "foods of his people".
