What do you think is the most poorly written scene in the ME series?

Leng wasn't handled well, but he's not the first right-hand henchman to receive cartoonishly dumb dialogue in the series. Benezia is, arguably, worse.
Nor is he the first villain to receive an unjust "victory" and escape from Shepard: no matter if you ROFLstomp Saren or not on Virmire, he still gets off his helipad and chokes/distracts Shepard long enough for the plot to claim either Kaidan or Ashley.
No light. They always said there'd be a... X_X
There was enough cheese in that moment to turn me lactose intolerant.

Male-Shep: ME1: Okay ME2: Good ME3: Best
Fem-Shep: ME1: Best ME2: Okay ME3: Worst
I agree with this, somewhat. My preference clearly lies with Hale in ME1 and ME2, but I think Meer got Shepard's tone and personality just right in ME3 while Hale went a tad overboard. Overall, I still prefer FemShep.

That scene with Benezia was crap.
She says Have you ever seen an Asari Commando unit before? Few humans have. What a load of crap. Her so called Commandos were pathetic.
This is what femshep should've said to the benezia. Have you ever seen an human Commando unit before? Few Asari have.

Benezia was underwhelming, but she was also underdeveloped. She has two appearances, and the second one is where you kill her. Otherwise, she's a nobody. I wouldn't go anywhere near calling her cartoonishly dumb at all, let alone worse. She's a non-entity for the most part.

Probably the Citadel coup...specifically that Shep and the team stand around instead of rushing and stopping Kai Leng.
I suppose I could see where someone would say the Lazarus Project stuff, but I like that from a thematic perspective (Shep dies, returns with a whole new crew and Ceberus, its like learning to walk all over again), so it never bothered me in the least.

I personally feel the ME1 and ME2 were both very good for Meer, since his deadpan, emotionless, and sarcastic style suited my Shepard to a "T".
I'd say a better accurate comparison would be that Meer does better with Renegade dialogue, and Hale does better with Paragon dialogue.

She's also conveniently on the "irrefutable" recording with Saren. And yeah, her melodrama and role in the story is indeed cartoonish, from her rambling about motherhood to closing off a part of her mind to indoctrination and "No light ...?" Ugh. Terrible.

I don't really agree. I enjoyed the hell out of Hale's Renegade dialogue in ME1 and ME2, whereas Meer comes across as hollow in either alignment, despite a gradual improvement between ME1 and ME2.

Love pretty much everything else about Noveria, to be honest.
I'm not really interested in any prequel or midquel spinoffs, except for a Noveria-based game built around the underbelly of the research groups.

Plus, that dress.
Every time I see her, I look away in embarrassment on her behalf. Plus, she isn't even that attractive.
Of course, it doesn't help that immediately following her cleavage shot is one of the sillier forced delimmas in the trilogy. Okay, we have the Rachni Queen safely contained in a container and... can't leave her in there for the Council because?
Then again, the only Big Decision I thought was worth discussing in ME1 was the Council decision. Feros is just silly, since the gas grenades are significantly easier in their own right.

And Virmire. It was interesting to see people's reasonings behind that choice when they were actually RPing. It was the hardest decision of ME1 for me,

A lot of scenes are actually played out horribly, because every scene is made up of 100% animations that are recycled. If you watch a scene with flycam, a lot of the scenes will look like crap, and that's why we have camera cuts and camera angles.

can't leave her in there for the Council because?
1. "Businesses come here to avoid the second guessing of galactic law"
2. Don't they nuke the place if something awful like that goes wrong? Wouldn't the rachni queen be obliterated?
I don't know maybe I'm not recalling well enough.

It wasn't explained. Shepard can't ask for the council's opinion, and they disapprove no matter what he does. The place should have been nuked in case of danger, yes, but there was still time to inform the council.

Yeah, but when it comes down to it, according to their laws, that company was a bioaharz hence it would have been nuked. The council doesn't have much authority on Noveria aswell. It wasn't explained. Point being, Council opinion wouldn't matter. If shepard left the planet it would have been out of his, and the council's hands.

If Shepard had left her imprisoned they'd probably have nuked the place, yeah. It was the safest option. And the Turian councilor would have found something else to bug Shepard with.

So your dissatisfaction is that the Turian councillor will always bugger you?
I think its because Turians and Humans have bad blood. He is the politician that doesn't like you, so he will whine over anything you do. wink wink

Not really. I liked bickering with him. I disliked not having the option to say "screw this" and walk out of the labs without having the responsibility of the life or death of (what was left of) an entire species. Freeing her seemed reckless, killing her unnecessary. Minor dislike. She would have died anyway if left there, I think the council itself would have opted for killing her.

Ok I see. You're right they should have included a middle option. Like in the save the council decision.

Lore trumps combat.
Asari commandos, lorewise, are incredibly powerful biotics and fighters with decades to centuries of experience, yet still being in the physical shape of a twenty-something year old human. Them not being much of a challenge is the fault of the gameplay designers.
It amuses me at times, in the game and on these boards, where the humans get uppity and all self-important.
Your population is dwarfed, your economy insignificant, and your military weak. If the Alliance ever tried to do their own thing, or try to take territory or anything from the Council governments, then Earth would be under Turian military occupation in several weeks. The Salarians quarantine humanity to Earth, and the Asari laugh.
