Attaching an omni-blade and/or HVB to a shotgun theoretically adds to its weight, except that this does not apply to non-DLC weapons if no other weapon in the loadout uses one of the ultra-light mods. I have been taking advantage of this with my Krogaurd by putting both the omni-blade and HVB on the Disciple in order to achieve rapid cool downs but high melee damage.

This works fine for solo runs, but it seems to me that if I start a match solo and then other people join mid-game my cool down suddenly craters. Before anyone joins I am able to Charge, Heavy Melee, Heavy Melee, Charge. After other players have joined, however, I will almost have done 3 heavy melees before Charge is ready again.

Has anyone else noticed this behavior with the weapon weight glitch?

I remember someone investigating some cases where it wasn't applying, it had something to do with dropping in a match in progress. It was a long time ago, and I don't remember who it was or what the thread title was. Maybe it was UnknownMerc though.

Yes, it fixes itself when people join a match in progress.

Don't start the match solo if your build is dependent on this glitch working. Even with a full lobby, though, someone could leave or get DC'd, and you'll have the same issue. I would never double-down on weighted mods with a vanguard for this very reason. A sudden and massive increase in cooldown on a vanguard mid-match is un-fun.

IMO you should never depend on the glitch. Take advantage, sure. Depend, no.

That sums it up quite nicely.

Initially Bioware delayed the release of those weapon mods due to bugs but in the end they just released it anyway even though the bug wasn't fixed completely.

Essentially what I was intending to say. It is a nice glitch but it should not be relied upon because, as you saw, it is fickle.

If you want to learn how to play when your cooldowns are negatively affected, you have to not rely on this glitch much at all. If you have Disciple X, you don't need to worry much about the Heavy Melee Mod if you did spec into capacity as well.

The solution is simple...  The krogan ate the salarian who was at the time holding a venom shotgun.  Since it is a krogan, and krogan love weapons as much as eating salarians... he began to use the weapon only to find out that he can eat many more salarians than usual when using this venom weapon.  Which in turn brings us back to the beginning, eating a salarian wielding a venom to begin with.

This salarian however (look in signature) operates the feces analyzer, so get feces on self on purpose.  Krogan tend not to eat salarian that taste like sh*t.Image IPB

Check your power CDs after enabling the weapon with mods, go to the select character screen again but select the same character again, check your power CDs again inside your power evo specs. If the weapon was on the disk originally (IE this includes the Raider, promo weapons, etc), your CD will be lower.

People joining an in progress game will screw up the glitch so I wouldn't go too insane with loadouts.

No Krogan would use a weapon that was made by food even if it was good. Only gun a true Krogan should use it a Claymoar and a Wraith because they make the heads on Salarians go away and make them easier to chew.

As broken as some of the mechanics are in this game it would be hard not to cheat while playing this game.

Salarian weapons require a genetic identification from the original user to operate.  Krogan's have engineered* solutions to this challenge.  Even though this work around lasts a few quick hours, it's a source of great fun and satisfaction to the more enterprising members of the krant.

*salarian engineers are much easier to catch
