I also don't gel when I run into missle glitchers. I was playing a gold game yesterday with 2 friends and a randome and we realized pretty late in the game that he was trying to missle glitch and failed so we finished the wave 10 objective, because we weren't going to not get the money because of one idiot, and then all let ourselves die and left hime to finish wave 10 alone with no missles.

Hopefully this sums up why this could be the case.

Q: Why don't they have any?
A: Because they aren't getting enough from packs.
Q: Why aren't they getting enough from packs?
A: They don't have enough credits (which can be made worse by buying the most expensive packs which give you little consumables for the credits)
Q: Why don't they have enough credits?
A: Because they keep failing at missions and so as a result earn few or no credits
Q: Why do they keep failing?
A: BECAUSE THEY DON'T USE MEDIGELS TO ACTUALLY SUCCEED GETTING PAST WAVE 4

Fix'd.

Honestly though, if you finish Wave 10 Gold, you can buy a Jumbo Equipment Pack to replenish whatever you've used up, and still have 40k saved up. "Not having enough" is quite a lame excuse.

I totally agree it's a lame excuse and it's self defeating.

A successful silver or two successful bronzes is almost enough for a Jumbo pack as well. There's no reason why you can't use the credits from the lower difficultly missions to help you succeed in the more difficult ones. As you said, if you can finish Wave 10 Gold you can just keep repeating the cycle with credits to spare. If you fail, just drop to the lower difficultly ones to built up your credits to get another Jumbo pack.

Q: Why don't they have enough credits?

Q: Why do they keep failing?
A: They are choosing a difficulty that is too high in comparsion to the equipment/characters/consumables they have.
Q: Why do they choose a difficulty that's too high?
A: Because higher difficulties give higher amounts of credits, but that's based on an assumption that they can reach the same waves in all difficulties.

Completing wave 10 on bronze gives about the same credits as only reaching wave 9 on silver
Completing wave 10 on silver gives about the same credits as only reaching wave 9 on gold
Completing wave 10 on gold gives about the same credits as only reaching wave 9 on platinum

Therefore you are better off knowing what difficulty you can handle and investing those credits in such a way that they enable you to move onto the next difficultly.

You're missing something in your post though.  Yes, Silver extraction gives you as many credits as Wave 9 of Gold, but Silver extraction also gives you as many credits as getting to Wave 6 of Gold and then wiping after the objective is completed.  And doing 6 waves of Gold will take less time.  I have noticed that lots of PUGs will stop using consumables after the Wave 6 credits drop in Gold, like they're satisfied already.  Plus, there's always the chance that there will be another player in the lobby who can carry them to Wave 10 credits.  Silver doesn't present that opportunity.  I suspect that this is an actual strategy for some people.

Blame the fools like myself that continue to carry them.

It's just easier to find a high difficulty lobby and use no equipment than to actually try to win these days it seems for some people. Kick, avoid them, then move on with your life.

To any leeching bastard on this board at least make sure your host doesn't suck balls, I don't enjoy carrying your sorry asses when I can't hear Banshees, phantoms, or turrets.

Honestly I think getting back at them by forcing them to lrn2carry is much more statisfying then letting them have their way with you.
Plus, you keep your pride.

As much as I would like to dismiss this suggestion, I think it's true. I once asked if someone wanted to play gold and they said they only wanted to play to wave 6. I wasn't interested in this and so didn't play with them, but I didn't ask why and maybe the above explains this. :o

No, but I imagine that would be a little different than total strangers. I won't pretend like I understand, though.

Well, my English is weak to correctly describe that subtle matters. You know, we are mortals, and so our children, and so "total strangers". Our children eventually grown up and live their own lifes. In fact, they are strangers too, but we still forgive him their (temporary? imaginery?) mistakes and still love them. Some of us unlucky enough to have childern-criminals, children-autists and so on. So what? While man is alive, hope still exists.

How does this relate to putting up with being taken advantage of over and over again by strangers, in a videogame no less, an activity intended to be fun and/or enjoyable?

I agree with your view on people in general, but I feel it is beside the point.

Inexperienced players can be eventually educated by influence of skilled ones. Only insignificant minority can be educated by themselves. But if "elitists" won't play with "noobs", whole community will be divided and then degraded irreversibly.

I used to carry every single game. I still don't mind every once in a while if the person is obviously trying. Sometimes out of sheer, random generosity I'll carry someone who is clearly new to the game, because the credits give them a good start.

It gets old after a while.

And it doesn't justify being taken advantage of.

BSN has been around for a while, and there are a ton of people who stalk these forums. They know who we are, they know we can carry them, and tons of them take advantage of it. It's not fun, not cooperative, and defeats the purpose of playing the game.

I'm not a cold, heartless machine. I just recognize a line when I see it.

Well, having hope or losing it is very personal decision. Do you receive sometimes any thanks from random players?

Pugs do not "degrade" they already have before they started to play...

Most stupid pug behavior can be found in gold/plat.
Greed, inability ... might be the greatest factor here

In silver they use Cobras ! in bronze they even fight and use meds ...
