How exactly DO you guys manage to put up with being used by lazy bastards for nearly two years now?

I seriously want to know.

Do you have children?

No, but I imagine that would be a little different than total strangers. I won't pretend like I understand, though.

Well, my English is weak to correctly describe that subtle matters. You know, we are mortals, and so our children, and so "total strangers". Our children eventually grown up and live their own lifes. In fact, they are strangers too, but we still forgive him their (temporary? imaginery?) mistakes and still love them. Some of us unlucky enough to have childern-criminals, children-autists and so on. So what? While man is alive, hope still exists.

How does this relate to putting up with being taken advantage of over and over again by strangers, in a videogame no less, an activity intended to entertain?

I agree with your view on people in general, but I feel it is beside the point.

Inexperienced players can be eventually educated by influence of skilled ones. Only insignificant minority can be educated by themselves. But if "elitists" won't play with "noobs", whole community will be divided and then degraded irreversibly.

I used to carry every single game. I still don't mind every once in a while if the person is obviously trying. Sometimes out of sheer, random generosity I'll carry someone who is clearly new to the game, because the credits give them a good start.

It gets old after a while.

And it doesn't justify being taken advantage of.

BSN has been around for a while, and there are a ton of people who stalk these forums. They know who we are, they know we can carry them, and tons of them take advantage of it. It's not fun, not cooperative, and defeats the purpose of playing the game.

Well, having hope or losing it is very personal decision. Do you receive sometimes any thanks from random players?

That avatar... no offense of course.

No, I cannot recall a single thank you message I have ever recieved for carrying three useless people through a 40-minute platinum game for around a thousand hours spread out over three separate accounts.

About my avatar? I could say the exact same thing to you. It means absolutely nothing.

There would be more "thank you" messages if there was text chat in the game, I'm fairly certain about that.

If everything is at/near 255 but gel/ops/clip/cobra... recruit packs give you the best cost/item ratio at 2.5k each. JEPs are good to get other stuff and top off at the same time, but if you got lucky and scored 11 medigel in one pack you're paying 3k each. If you can live with the stigma of buying recruit packs, you can set aside the cost of 1 PSP and net 40 gel/ops/cobras...

The ones that really surprise me are the ones that tell me that I don't have to use equipment :P I don't know what they plan on doing with their equipment. Heck, you have to have ammo at least. They drop like crazy.

This is major for me.  If I go into lobbies and people don't bother to equip any consummables then I often leave.  No one can tell me that they don't have stinking cryo ammo I etc that they can't stick on.

This.

Lots of new players are only interested in unlocking shiny new guns, so they dont 'waste' their credits on JEPs. This is a particularly frustrating situation for the rest of us as they also die a lot because they are running into Gold with level 2 Avengers half the time.

It's more likely to receive a kickvote than a thank you message. Sad but true.

I'm at the point where I won't be too picky about people not using equipment but I agree with you Jaded4Chaos and Beerfish. I use equipment every game practically and if I'm playing a Silver because Gold pugs are feeling helpless and hopeless I even use my level 1 stuff! What are people saving equipment for? The ME universe Apocalypse

I sadly thought coming out of retirement in 2014 would elimate some of the scrubs who are like n7 20 with a lvl 1 avenger, no mods, HV lvl 10 with no equipment vs gold reapers......I was wrong :P

It also didn't eliminate the bane of my existence...  pugs with open mics.... I am always compelled to turn my mic to "open" turn the tv up  as loud as it can go and set the mic next to the tv.... yeah i'm  that aggrevated by it :P

Unfortunate but true.  I'd rather see them max out some UC weapons and buy a few JEPs first.  That should give them a decent enough weapon to be able to function on gold and enough consumables to get started with for gold.  Then if they reach wave 10 on gold matches, buy a JEP after each match.  It still only takes 2-3 games to make enough to buy a PSP, even while buying JEPs every time.

High rewards with little effort attracts a certain type of crowd. I'd rather hold my own in Silver and have fun, than feel like a liability on higher levels! I actually feel more perplexed by players who medigel when I'm right there to revive them. I'm still new myself and enjoy helping other newbz out. The ones that learn with/from you make dealing with the dolts worth it. ^-^

Had a Wave 6 drone escort on Vancouver last night, all 3 teammates, even the Juggernaut, went down, no medigel, I wasted 2 myself in my futile attempts to pick them up

Lol! I suppose it does make sense. I'm familiar with raging but medigel's not my poison. You see, I'm a...rage-missiler.

lol poor juggs, too stupid to do anything but stand in the most wide open space for 15 minutes meleeing a prime/atlas/banshee/praetorian while  1/2 or more of the spawn budget is  bearing down on them guns blazing...

As long as there is one other competent player with equipment that I can rely on then the game will usually run pretty smoothly. The non gelling players will likely become spectators for a few waves because I am only going to revive if safe to do so.

Duos are fun. 3 hopeless PUGs is a pain and drags out the game for too long.

I'll never understand the ones who won't use a single gel or missile the entire game, but then fire off 2 or 3 missiles right at the start of the extraction wave. With medigels... okay, maybe you can assume that they don't have any. But with missiles, you're just sitting there watching them nuke extraction wave spawns and thinking, "Wow, 1 or 2 of those would've been really useful during that wave 10 escort, when we were trying to go right thru all those praetorians and scions..."
