I have had all companions accompany me into the fade in the Broken Circle quest - except Zevran. Is his appearance dependent on any quest being completed or can I add him to my party before Arl Eamon dies of old age? Has anyone taken him into the fade? How?

The Zevran encounter triggers after the first of the post-Lothering plot quest line is completed (dwarves, elves, ashes, Eamon or circle). Hence the only requirement in your case would be not to do the Broken Circle first.

If you are on PC there is also a mod which makes Zevran available straight after Lothering.
Search nexusmods.com for 'Zevran Now'. I'd link to it but my internet connection's acting up.

I enjoy taking Zevran into the Tower, he has some really good lines in there. The first happens when you first meet Wynne. There is also a comment if you are a female mage when encountering Cullen at the top. Which was kind of immersion breaking on my last play as I had used console to make a Cousland Mage, with the HN Origin, and the game assumed I had been there, and that Cullen had a crush on my Cousland.
Still he has some really good commentary through the whole game. I usually do the Ashes right out of Lothering so I can get him as soon as possible through all the quests, without using the mod. Kind of leery of game altering mods though I do use Skip the Fade, which is about the only one that specifically alters my game.

I use Zevran asap and have him in Redcliffe for the zombie battle, then on to the circle. he has good dialogue.

It's a little OT, but I don't feel like opening a whole thread for this: What is Oghren in the fade like? Maybe even a Youtube video of it anywhere?
