Can Bioware do a mega-marketing ploy ? Can they lie to the fans of ME to lower their expectations , then on the final day/month announce that ME4 is all about Shepard and his future ? I mean , he was resurrected in ME2, and they already announced that the "canon" ending is Destroy, which leaves the possibility of Shepard being ALIVE. I am not going into the IT, although that would be even better in my opinion.


EDIT : Ok, so the red ending is not canon , sorry for that. The question still stands.

Well it's not like there haven't been lies before...many remember the ME3 we were told we would get and we all remember the one we got instead.


Also, when did they canonize an ending? Did I miss some news post or announcement?

There's already trust issues with Bioware. I hardly think they want to excabrate things further.

But then, who knows? Look at the ME3 claims, after all.

Considering that your objective in ME3 was to Destroy the Reapers , then it stands to reason that the red ending is the canon. And the details in the high ems red ending give away a clue that Shepard is alive, that doesn't happen with the other 2 endings.

I think they will find a way to canonize all 3 choices somehow. The link posted about the red option seems to be an old post about Shepard surviving a high EMS destroy. I doubt Shepard will return. I think the closest thing I can compare how ME4 may work, is the new Avatar series compared to the old one. New character, born after the Reaper war, seeing an old world reborn through fresh eyes sort of thing.

You won't get me.

I'm not trying to "get you". The question was entirely different. Even if they didn't admit overtly that the red ending is canon, the clues point in that direction. But even if the red ending isn't canon, it is still a possible ending, the question in the title is still valid.

Hopefully the name Shepard is never uttered again. I'd rather play as Buzz Aldrin.
