I think the new rules are pretty good. They cover a lot of the issues that are in posting right now. Though, I will miss having the opportunity to simply agree with a viewpoint.
I agree with this.

Ideally I prefer to use the "I like it" or "Comment" links via the "Recent Activity" screen, but I don't know of a way to access those links once an activity has vanished from view.

The new subforum section made my eyes bleed, I'm hoping that this isn't how it'll remain for the final product.

I thought that at first but if you click the chat bubble thing it goes to the original format basically. I actually like it. Its an additonal click now, but you can find things faster since you are not scrolling for ten years.

So are you saying if someone posts a particularly good post and we post something like "good post" or "thanks for sharing" that will be considered a spam post?
PS: The new layout in the Forums page is so much nicer. Good lord what a nice change.

Edit: Appreciate that all the series is placed in one large block though since that should enourage people to actually use the designated forums for those topics instead of just posting everything in DA:I.
Edit2: Don't think we need the mods listed anymore under the forums or topics though since people can't PM them if something happens now anyway unless their friends.
Glad you find it useful!
As for your second comment, we're looking into it, but it seems to be a software limitation at the moment. I would prefer to also free up that space so that your eyes go to the discussion topics. We're continuing to refine and we hope you will bear with us as this is a longterm investment

Other than that, I am very happy to see the BSN overhaul well underway, keep up the good work!

Spam: Do not post communication lacking in meaningful content or posts that do not contribute directly to the conversation. Some examples of this include: +1, first, bump, /agree, etc. People who spam post links to non-BioWare products, or repetitive information also fall into this category.

Maybe adding a "thank this post" button for forum posts would help with that? Like in the CDProjectRED forums.

With all the negativity that gets posted on BSN I think BSN would want to encourage us to be supportive of good posts. I just don't get it.
And yea thats a good idea.

Only users with Origin accounts considered in "good standing" may post in the forumsOur forums are a place for responsible and respectful conversation about video games. Requiring user accounts to be good standing ensures they stay that way. An account is determined to be in good standing if it meets the following criteria:- For users who have not already logged into a registered BioWare Edmonton/Montreal game using their Origin account, the account must be older than 30 days.- For users who are already playing EA games and have logged in using this Origin account, the account must be registered with this site for at least 24 hours.
I'm having trouble understanding the criteria. Is our BSN account the same as an Origin account? And what does "logged into a registered game" mean exactly? I don't play any games online, so as far as I know, there's no log-in involved.

I agree with this.
I'm not so concerned about people saying they agree as I think that does actually contribute to someone's point. Right now we don't have software that has a "Like" or "Thumbs Up" which is not your fault
So don't worry about that. You won't get in trouble for agreeing with someone (there are always exceptions but that's only if you are trying to exploit the system or the rules and I hate even having to say that).

I hope you post this any time people start whining about "free speech."IMPORTANT: Forum content is moderated at BioWare's sole discretion, and content may be modified, removed, or otherwise restricted by BioWare/Electronic Arts employees and/or moderators.
As far as the reorganization goes, I'm liking it so far. I'm hoping that you will eventually do a complete overhaul of the appearance, as well as adding some fancier forum features like multi-quoting, and more robust search options like "by post author." Currently if I'm looking for a specific post by, say David Gaider, I have to do some shenanigans with Google searches, but even that is not really adequate, as it will also return posts where he has been quoted. Even the "Jump to: Your Posts" option, while nice, only returns all of the threads I've posted in, requiring me to sift through multi-page threads for my own posts.
Thanks for all the work you guys are doing on this. It's greatly appreciated!

Is that to mean that known cheaters can not post any longer, or something pertaining the posting history on the forum instead?
