I'm really torn here when trying to decide what to do about Connor, and I'm at an impasse.

The choice I felt was best was using Jowan's blood magic to take out the demon in the fade, but for some reason that makes me lose points with all my followers.

Killing the child myself (which I thought was not a good idea) actually gives me bonus approval points with 3 of my companions and NO negative approval points, which just seems really odd.

Now, the third choice of going to get the Circle involved... Anyone done this? Are there any negative repercussions in Redcliff for taking the time to go through the tower then coming back? Is it even "possible" to get the mage's help in the end? I don't want to go all the way through the mage tower and then have to reload my save from Redcliff because I don't like what happens.

This decision is difficult in and of itself, but the consequences seem kind of backwards to me. Sacrificing the mother for her son's sake with her permission gets me nothing but disapproval points, but knocking out the mother and killing the boy myself gets me approval? WHY IS THIS SO HARD?

Any advice would be appreciated. :D

It really depends on who you have in your party, but the objection here is not to the mother dying but to the use of blood magic. Not everyone thinks that using evil magic and a blood sacrifice (even an ostensibly willing one) is a good solution.

Killing the child myself (which I thought was not a good idea) actually gives me bonus approval points with 3 of my companions and NO negative approval points, which just seems really odd.

Again, it depends on who you have with you but some people are going to see this as the most expedient solution.

It is indeed possible, though part of that will depend on the choices you make at the Circle.

I get that Blood Magic is evil.. but many in the world think ANY magic is evil, so I'm still missing what all the outrage is about. The codex is small and the wiki doesn't have a whole lot on it either. Are they cursed or something in their death?

You don't get how someone might think that magic requiring a human sacrifice is a bad thing? Or how someone can't really be called "willing" when they're simply desperate? Or how putting that kind of power into the hands of someone who may have summoned the demon to begin with maybe isn't a good idea? Even ignoring the whole historical aspect of the objection to blood magic, if you don't have access to it, is it truly that difficult to understand?

Right, I agree with Mystranna here - I don't see how the blood magic part is worse than killing the child outright. It's all in a grey area and to be honest I feel like Isolde is responsible for this whole mess anyways because she was trying to keep Connor's magic a secret. The child is totally innocent.

And some of the party members would agree. Like I said before, it really depends on who you have with you.

Some people only lost a few points? After the argument in the camp I lost 21 points with Alistair and eventually dropped to hostile with him.

Alistair's reaction to how you solve the Redcliffe situation can be tricky, and can depend on how much he already likes you at the time as well as how persuasive you are if you try to convince him what you did was for the best.
