I'd think the statistic that's more relevant in this case is how many people played maleShep over femShep in ME3 despite the femShep marketing and the fact that a lot of men might've played femShep as well. I'd wager it's more than the ratio of women playing maleShep.

That's because MaleShep had two+games worth of marketing not to mention he got the lion's share of trailers while Femshep only got one.

And the % of femshep players actually dropped by 2% after Mass Effect 3, imagine that.

If Femshep had over two games worth of exposure while MaleShep had next to little then the numbers will be reversed. That's why MaleShep is considered to be the canon shep because he had over two+ games to become a icon in most gamer's minds.

Can you prove that? No? Well then, stop making statements as if you were actually stating facts and stop spouting off your misogynistic dribble.
Female gamers are too dumb to know how to pick a characters gender? They gotta be told to play women? You are a pig.

Lmao! You are twisting my words in order to make me appear as a sexist.....I have tons of female family members and have never once disrespected a woman in my life.I'm likely to hold a door open for a lady than anything else.

But please continue with the twisting of words.<_<

I'd like BioWare to go back to 2007 where the game world was the game cover. That classic Mass Effect cover where you see Saren, maybe some prothean language, a red planet, Ashley, Garrus, the Normandy, Geth, some other ships. That screamed, "Space epic". What will Drago Age scream? Or will it be a lonely tree in the forest with no one around.

Covers in the style of KotOR, Jade Empire, and Mass Effect 1.

DA:O's cover art was pretty crappy, sadly.

This too.  I miss those covers greatly.

I think dragon age origins had it pretty well, non player characters and a nice background would be better over a single shot of a protag with some special glowly effect on them.

Irrelevant.  There is absolutely no reason in the world to discount wikipedia articles that are properly cited.  THAT is why it is dismissed as a source by educators, but the criticism only applies to wikipedia articles that aren't actually sourced.

Actually if you wanted to prove your point you link to the sources linked in the article and not the article itself, which can be edited by anyone and is moderated by unqualified individuals whose only expertise is really just website management.

I just thought the color scheme on it was so utterly bland. Aside from a nice shot of hooded Morrigan, there was nothing that really stood out about it (imo).

Those Star Wars trilogy style covers always get me in the mood to spend money, for better or worse.

Male intimidation towards females doesn't make sense?

You bringing that up doesn't make sense. I don't see how that at all has anything to do with the percentage of women playing video-games. What are you trying to say? That the amount of female gamers is low because of male intimidation? That us evil men somehow stop women from playing games? lol

Given the amount of resistance expressed in this thread, combined with the apparent belief that featuring a female inquisitor would damage their sales to male consumers, one can only surmise that featuring a female protagonist is somehow threatening to male consumers.

Of course, the whole route issue of this argument is based on gender issues.  How many times do we see females stay quiet because they don't want to be harrassed, it's a common issue.

Again, irrelevant.  Sure a person could link to the sources instead of the wiki article, but if the article IS sourced, then it is not an invalid source itself, and that the site can be edited by anyone and how it is moderated is, again, irrelvant IF THE ARTICLE IS SOURCED.  It doesn't matter how the article is edited if the sources are there and valid.

Well I'm sorry to inform you white knights, the princess is in another castle, having sex with the dudebro player who only plays CoD and doesn't give a rats ass about gender-percentages in video-games.

Depends on the exclusive featuring anyway.  If arguing showing only a male inquisitor damages female sales, then wouldn't it likewise be said that only showing a female protagonist damages male sales?
