The best approach it to play with 3 friends or at a minimum with 2 friends and a random. The latter gives you the power to kick randoms who are clearly way over their head and/or going to cheat. Don't be too picky with the random though, otherwise it's going to take a while before you start a match with a full lobby.
Alternatively search for giant reapers; that's more or less the default for those who want to play platinum and want the relative easy option.

I've noticed that PUG'ing on PS3 for platinum games isn't easy these days and the pool of players period has really dried up. Then there's the ones were I get grouped with missile glitchers. Any other PS3 players noticed this recently? I've only started playing platinum games on a regular basis this past week.
Yep. I wish I could pug plat more. Lobbies take too long to fill up with non-missile glitchers.

Anyway, my experience has generally been the most enjoyable on Giant Platinum. Despite it being such a campy affair, it's better than dying trying to revive randoms across the map in Ghost, Hydra, or Vancouver.
Also, despite what other people say about maps like Glacier, London, Jade, and Condor, these are actually pretty good PUG maps. Dagger is also a good choice. You just need to do well enough and establish a presence that other players will follow your lead. Since many PUGs do not know enough about certain game mechanics or spawn logic, it's best to hold out a position. If you can, play a kit that is team-oriented and can provide decent to excellent crowd control or support. My suggestions are the Juggernaut (and actually shoot things please), any Volus, N7 Demolisher, Justicar, Talon Mercenary, any of the Tactical Scan Quarian Males with Area Scan, etc. There are more, but you get the gist.

Even gold has been declining lately. Sad to see, but guess it had to start to die off eventually.

So I don't really ever pug platinum. I'll play with friends though.

I don't know that this is a matter of anything being different, but I play on PS3, and PUG'ing platinum is a nightmare; about 4 out of 10 games have a glitcher, and of the rest, most of those are made up of players who really should be playing on silver or lower (as in, level 1 common weapons, no consumables, die 10 times per wave etc.). I guess people sign up for platinum just hoping to be carried, or are fine with wave 6 wipes.Makai81 wrote...

Default search for a new account is Unknown/Collectors/Platinum, so that's probably part of it. And most newer people are unaware of the differences between difficulties.q5tyhj wrote...

Hmm, didn't know that, but I bet you're right; that probably accounts for quite a few of the folks who show up in plat pug's looking like they've played all of two games in their me3 mp career.FatherOfPearl wrote...

I just don't pug plat. It's not worth the effort of waiting for somebody, let alone somebody who knows what he's doing.

99% of my current PS3 plat pugs are usually successful because well..... I carry them. When some other good players recognise my skills, they will add me and ask me to play with them.
But it depends on your timezone... Europe has better players than the west.

If you've managed to avoid missile glitchers for 99% of your plat PUG's, then it isn't a matter of what anyone is doing right or wrong, you just have gotten extremely, fantastically lucky.Voodud wrote...

He's had it maxed for at least 100 hours. Best we can figure is that he spent a crapload of actual money in the store.TheJimMan wrote...
I'm curious how the OP managed to max his manifest in 1200 games and 470 hrs O.o
