I always put any of the Shepards in Predator M X armour.

Simply because it looks better than the Colossus suits.

+1

Luckily in my last playthought I also found (and relatively early) an L IX and a H IX for Kaidan and Wrex respectively (my fav companions). A squad equipped with that looks pretty badass compared to the..."trekkie-style" armors that ME1 has.

Heavy Colossus doesn't look too horrible.  It looks kinda odd on the lighter ones though.  Especially the Turian.

You can get away with the Armax Armor, especially when you have fast shield regen and bonuses later game to get a lot of shields, even if damage protection is more efficient.  I have tended to just run Onyx on Shepard the last couple of games since that is one of my favorites really (at least in looks, not stats).

There are some interesting armors you can only get through console.  Interesting in looks, they don't really compete with Colossus in stats IIRC.  Even if they are above average.

The armors of the Geth armory are the coolest:

Wrex looks alot better in Geth Rage to match the party. The blue set isnt bad either I believe.

Yeah I like the Geth armor for Wrex.  The blue one is called Battlemaster, and there is a green one called Berserker.

Did you guys ever wonder why the *&*@^# the Geth would make Armor for Krogans?

Or sell stuff to the Alliance Requisition Officer...

I took it as armour made for Saren's Krogan by his Geth.

Got to the supply chain by other teams taking out Krogan wearing it. Which is why it is so rare.

I agree Geth Rage looks best with a Colossus team. However, I am a fan of the Mercenary. I dig the dark candy apple maroonish look. I always tend to favor that tint in ME2.

I also support the notion of an Engineer taking up the Sniper Rifle as a bonus talent. I admit to being partial to the rifle, anyway. I can't play without having it set up with 2 Rail Extensions and Explosive rounds. That never gets old.

Shotgun + sprint = 1 shooting most enemies. Shotguns are uberpowerful from up close

You can sprint in ME1?

Ha! Well I'll be damned... I guess age does affect the mind. Either I never knew this or I forgot. Either way, I'm glad I know now. Even if it is 5 years after the fact.  :D

The ME1 sprint for some reason only works when there are enemys around... (I 've only discovered this around 2/3rds through my first playthrough

Haha yeah, when there's no enemies around Shepard starts jogging... or something that's supposed to be jogging.

I never looked at the manual or even the controls, for that matter. I play on the Xbox and while in combat, I never had any reason to hit the [A] button. I never had any reason to think it would do anything.

At least you picked up on it during your first playthrough. Hell, I played through ME1 8 times and if not for the previous comment... I'd still be jogging.

Actually, sprint sometime "bugs" and you can sprint without enemies, but 90% of the time it only works when you're in combat. That said, sprint is VERY fast in ME1 and a very good gap-closer for Shotgun use.

Yeah his sprint is absurdly fast in combat.  It has a limit though, you get fatigued after a bit.

Just play as a soldier and shoot everything in sight. Even on insanity I never die playing as a soldier

If you use a Soldier with Barrier as a bonus ability, you can be pretty much invincible. All you have to do is to cycle through barrier, immunity and shield booster, as well as reseting the cooldown with adrenaline rush, and even the admiral´s mission in pinnacle station becomes a piece of cake. But remember to have an engineer with you, as well as a biotic. Liara is good because of singularity. You can also use singularity as a bonus talent if you want it, but if you´re looking for ways to enhance your defenses and survive a lot longer without taking damage, use this built with barrier. Also, equip you armor with mods that enhance either shield or damage protection. Many people will argue that better damage protection is actually better than having more shield points.

You do not even need Barrier. Both Commando and Shock Trooper specializations will give Immunity a huge cooldown bonus, plus with at least one good cooldown mod, you can have Immunity permanently activated.

Heck, with two Medical Exoskeletons providing some big health regeneration, you will wonder if you are even taking health damage.

Indeed. Using Barrier can be discarded, in favor of Singularity. But if one uses it, is just to ensure that "win mode" is on.

Best combat strategy:

Bring Liara.

Singularity is so broken it makes things unfair.

In my previous run I had an Adept Bastion Shepard and Liara both with Savant X amps or something like that. It was pretty hilarious

Together they could keep entire groups floating indefinetly just using singularity :D
