Tali. I wouldn't trust legion as far as I could throw him.

wellll funny thing about that is, you being in space and what not just take a step out of the ship and throw him. I'd assume you could trust him forevaa on those terms

Well then what we have here is a cultural missunderstanding on every level.

Word of advice Lurch for future reference, if you ever encounter a Lucidstrike post, just keep scrolling, you won't get those minutes of your life back that you wasted.

Which part of "it's possible for the entire team to survive the mission" didn't you understand?

All that aside (what's it doing in a thread with goddamn synthetics? Cargo Shipping much?), I would pick one on the first playthrough, and that would be Tali, and the other one on the second. Tali first, because I am willing to risk the mask and start a romance. However, I am sure that (if we don't have to choose) this conflict situation would be one of the most difficult Charms in the game, and I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully my imported character gets a bonus to that, like they said.

DarthCaine: If you have to pick, one of those companions may or may not be on the team during the final mission. That doesn't contradict what devs said so far, since they were talking about the selectable squad members.

I have a feeling the decision will be somewhat like the Wrex decision in Mass Effect 1.  There is no way to have them both unless you have a high enough charm/intimidate/respect and honestly, I have a feeling, just going by the scene in the trailer, that if you choose tali, Legion will end up dead.

Wouldn't it be a mind^&*( if you choose Legion over Tali, Tali shoots Legion and leaves, and you're left with nothing?

Tali, no question. Legion might make a good coat rack, maybe we can melt him down to make a bunch of little Legion statuettes, maybe Tali just wants to dissect him?

It depends on the situation and the Shepherd I'm playing during that game. If Tali has been "banished", that means she no longer holds any possiblity of Quarian backing in the future, while Legion may hold promise of Geth troops to back you up at some point. I think anyone playing a Shepherd mentality (top prioirty is to save humanity), would have to consider those facts even if Tali is sharing a bed with you.

Those that say they would pick Tali to be "loyal" are not really considering what would be best for humanity in the long run (assuming you MUST choose and Tali offers no allies and Legion does).

My main Shep would choose her lil' sis' without a doubt. Tali got her back ever since they'd met and although it's a tough choice, Tali would make it. After all, Legion is the new guy.

However, i think my male Shep would choose Legion instead, cause he's the more efficient ally of the two.

Maybe there won't be such a conflict between the two if you have their approval rating high enough.

Is it wrong that I want Tali to be my girl and Legion to be my wacky robot butler?

I'd even rename him Alfred.

I totally want to take over the Perseus Veil and use it to play Battle Bots with Geth.

Tali. As important as understanding the geth may be, the mission objectives can never supercede the value of the life of a friend. As Shepard once said, "We do things right, or not at all."

Legionzzz

If I encounter that scene of conflict and can find no resolution,I'm shooting Tali.I hate the Quarians and really it looks like Tali will be the one displaying anger and hatred,I don't think Legion has the capabilities to care about the crying of some Dome Head.

Why are you assuming her "life" is at stake? My gut reaction would be that she simply threatens to leave your group if you accept Legion as a member. If no ammount of reasoning or choices can convince her to stay, then her leaving does NOT threaten her life....she leaves.

Now if it comes down to blows between the 2 that can't be avoided, I would protect Tali, but only so far as she isn't be totally unreasonable or is provoking the conflict beyond Shepherds wishes. I certainly hope it does not come down to that kind of conflict, but that would certianly be a memorable (and controversal) arc in the overall story.

As surprising as it may sound, I would find it quite interesting if Tali was the villain between her and Legion. Think about it...

*Tali pulls a gun on Legion. He doesn't react.*

Legion: Go ahead Quarian. Pull the trigger. Fulfill your organic urge for revenge.

Tali: I will

Legion: But before you do. Think. Will killing me fix anything? Will it bring back your planet? Will all Geth suddenly bow down to the Quarians once again? If they will. Then by all means go ahead. But know this. You Quarians are no better than Geth. Possibly worse. You killed Geth out of fear. You fear what you do not understand. You justify slaughter by calling Geth lesser beings. This is a flaw among all organics. Too quick to judge. No wonder the Reapers have never been stopped.

*Tali's hand shakes*

Tali: WE DEFENDED OURSELVES!

Legion: From what? A sentient life form merely asking it's purpose in the universe? Even after we forced you into exile we stayed behind the Veil. It was only when a false Prophet promised Geth a meeting with our gods that we ventured beyond. Even then, the gods were malevolent. I do not serve the reapers and neither does my clan

*Tali drops the gun*

Tali: I hate you so much... *walks away*

Shepard (To Legion): You didn't need to be so harsh. Her people went through hell because of your kind

Legion: The truth stings doesn't it? Geth only speak truth.

Nice bit.

Though I'd point out that "300 year old grudges don't matter to me. The Geth trying to help the Reapers have to go."

"yes, Commander."

I don't believe that there will be a choice. The whole theme of the game is to gather up a bunch of mutually dysfunctional allies, and mould them into a unified fighting force capable of trusting each other. I'm quite eager to see what it takes to get Tali and Legion to work together, actually.

Considering the stark similarities between Mass Effect & Chrono Trigger. It would be hilarious if Leigion and Tali end up like Robo & Lucca respectively. Lucca is a purple haired techie and Tali is a purple suited techie. Legions new theme:

There some cute scenes in CT with Lucca fixing Robo with the latter getting all emotional

Definitely Tali.

If the choice comes down to a possibly not-so-hostile individual of a hostile race of intelligent machines or a friend who've helped me become a Spectre, been always loyal and friendly, saved my @ss quite a few times, i'll pick the friend, without hesitation.

As for long-term consequences...i'll cross that bridge when i get there. With Tali.

I hope we have to do hard choices. Even between squaddies. Think the ending of Bringing Down the Sky.

If there's always the superior "third" way of saving everyone and kicking the villain's ass at the same time, the game cannot be acknowledged as having "hard" choices.

Both should get flushed out of the airlock. But if I had to chose......it would be Legion cause his name is cooler.
