I used to play quite a bit on xbox, but now I've started over again on PC. On xbox I never really worried about what the most effective way to get my armory up to speed. However since I've started over I was wondering what everyone's opinions were on how to get your setup going, whether or not you guys would prefer hitting up the common weapons to X before focusing on getting 1 or 2 rares and URs. I've gotten a few Reserves and weapons (what's the name for the 99k weapons pack?) packs, from those I've gotten decent enough thigns to play bronze and silver without too much worry. However, I was thinking about just blowing my way through all the common stuff before moving forward. So uhh, just start bombing through the basic packs, and onward to veteran and such? Or maybe a path less "linear"?

But uhh.... anyone know an arms dealer who's willing to hook me up with an M11-suppressor? :bandit:

I'd say get veteran packs first, not for the guns, but for the weapon mods.

The AP mods specifically, I can't imagine playing above silver without them on a non-combo based kit.

It's called Arsenal Pack. I'd say, Veteran Pack would be the most valuable for basics.

Generally, you should think about your manifest as a progression. Max out your Commons first (buy Recruit/Veteran packs), then move on to your Uncommons (just Veteran packs). Once your Uncommons are maxed, buy Spectre packs until the Rare cards are maxed out. I think this is the best way to efficiently spend your credits.

Awesome, I'll take all that into consideration then. Thanks for the help!

In terms of progression I prefer
-Recruit Packs til common weapons at V-X while playing bronze
-Veteran Packs til common weapons at X while playing silver
-(optional) Reserve Packs for character cards you may want, or if you want variety on kits.
-Spectre Packs til at least I-V rare weapons to round out all uncommon and to build consumables up while on gold
- (optional) Arsenal Packs to round out your rare weapons if you are moving on to Platinum.
-PSPs (to finish off Rare weapons if playing Gold) while doing the long drawn out run to max URs while doing Gold or Platinum.

That's my recommended gear progression for starters. You -can- just skip to gold and get carried but skill will only get you so far if you weapons suck(except for infiltrator mantis X). But with experience you can generally skip playing bronze and skip Veteran packs altogether. Still recommend those recruits to start though, builds up consumables and that mantis too good.

Completely agree. It's horrible playing without any form of piercing.

Start with recruit packs and Vet packs. These will help you max your common and uncommon weapons.

As those reach the top, start buying Spectre Packs, and stick with those until you've maxed most of your Rare (Gold) cards.

The mods in general are much rarer than the names imply, and will usually be the last thing you max out in each category.
