i'm just wondering who in the nonromanced companions hooked up together.

i romanced kaidan so Garrus/Tali would be the best example of this. but if you don't romance anyone who do each of the companions end up with?

You can encourage Ken and Gabby to hook up. You can encourage EDI and Joker to hook up (if that is possible with a robot). And you can have James and Ashley hook up at the party.

Jacob and Miranda had a prior sexual relationship, but I'm not sure if that quite counts since it happens prior to ME2.

Other than that I believe Cap and Gown covered it. I don't believe there are any others. Zaeed tries and fails with Samara and Kasumi's lusting after Jacob never goes anywhere.

Liara and Kaiden probably should have hooked up if both were uninvolved with Shepard.

The only people who will automatically get into a relationship unless you romance either of them are TalI and Garrus, everyone else you have to encourage them to get together, otherwise they won't do so. The only ones I would consider legitimate relationships, apart from Garrus + Tali of course, are Ken + Gabby and Joker + EDI, the rest reek of a one night stand, like Femshep + Vega for example.

Gabby/Ken and EDI/Joker are relationships, Vega/Ashley and Tali/Garrus are one nighters or flings. Miranda/Jacob appears to have been a fling as well.

Tali and Garrus' relationship had build up, it would not qualify as a one night stand. Tali was just teasing Garrus because of that comment he made about having something to come back to after the war. I thought this was obvious.

You can be friends and still have a fling. Of course it all depends on how you interpret that line from Tali, but I always took it has her being straightforward and honest.

She said it in a very teasing voice, with Garrus then following suit. It's how my ex girlfriend and I used to talk to each other at times, which is how my brain made that connection. Tali and Garrus crossed the friendship line long ago, the hints were regularly being dropped in each of their Normandy conversations. Garrus for once wasn't oblivious like he was with Dr Michel and Femshep.

I'm not sure Javik outright denies it in the end. In the final chat, if you resolved their conflict and didn't let Javik look at the shard, he'll hint he might settle down with her after the war. I'll agree it's not a sure thing or consummated. But there's at least some legitimate attraction.

Both remain single if unromanced by Shepard.

Kaidan has some dialogue in Mass Effect 1 with male Shep where he'll say that he thinks Liara is hot, but it never ends up going anywhere.

In ME, Garrus saves Dr. Michel from Fist's thugs and she develops a crush on him. 

In ME2, in an e-mail, she asks Shepard to get a message to him: "Is Garrus with you again, by any chance? After being so happy to hear of your survival, I wondered if perhaps he might have ended up with you. I left a few messages on his public accounts, but you know how he is about checking his mail, and I don't think the comm address I had for him works anymore, because he hasn't returned any calls. Always so busy on his grand crusades, his great passions, that he focuses on them to the exclusion of anything or anyone else. Anyway if you know where he might be, I would really love to hear from him, or both of you could come by the next time you're near the Citadel" 

But, Garrus has never considered a cross-species liaison, which is what he tells femshep when she offers to help "relieve tension."

Dr. Michel still gives him Turian chocolate in ME3, even if Shepard is in a relationship with him, and Tali says something like, "You better watch that one."

Before DLC there was nothing in the game to indicate any chemistry or attraction between the two, and in many ways they are total opposites. Javik also takes a negative view towards interspecies relationships in general. He is critical of Shepard if Shep hooks up with an alien LI.

The Citadel DLC, in full fanserve mode however, decided to ignore previous dialogue and throw in a Javik/Fem Shep pairing and have Javik utter lines while drunk that indicated he found Liara attractive. I thought both were mistakes personally and out of character for Javik.

But yeah, that never really goes beyond Javik mumbling while drunk.

If they had Liara hook up with another character I think Kaiden probably would have made the most sense, given their similarity and some of the dialogue in ME3 that indicated they had been close. Also Kaiden admits to finding Liara attractive. Whether Liara also finds Kaiden attractive is never said, but it certainly wouldn't have been far-fetched considering she goes for Sheploo.

In the regular game Javik views Shepard being involved in an interspecies relationships as pointless because it won't produce any human children.

With the Citadel DLC they kind of forgot Javik's view that relationships should be solely about reproduction so that they could squeeze in jokes and fanservice. As much as I like the Citadel DLC, sometimes they went overboard with both.

I didn't know Javik commented on interspecies relations though. That's funny. Sucks for him though. Reminds me of a comment he makes to Jack at the party, about masturbating. I guess he has no one but himself now.

I didn't get that meaning out of what was said at all. He told Jack he wanted to touch her (to read her, I'm assuming), and she told him to touch himself.
