Hey all,

I've searched this forum a number of times (gamefaqs too), but don't really have a definitive answer.

I've got a full paragon shep from ME1, romanced Ashley and left Kaidan to die.

I want to keep this going into ME3. Unfortunately, romance is basically a minigame to me in ME so staying celibate in ME2 is monotonous. I've read that she gets mad angry at you for Miranda and Jack, and if you romance miranda and then friendzone her in ME3 she dies, which I definitely don't want. Everyone also says that she's "ok" with a Tali romance, but there's no indication if she's willing to reignite your past thing if you're willing to break it off with Tali.

1) Can I romance someone else (Miranda, Tali, Jack) without screwing up a ME3 Ashley romance?

 - and -

2) Can I romance this person and friendzone them in ME3 without somehow screwing up my relationship with them?

I know, I'm trying to have my cake and eat it.

You can romance anyone in ME2 and still go back to Ash in ME3.

Its best to not "friend zone" your ME2 romance. Instead, just wait for the lock-in dialogue with Ashley. Once you lock-in with Ash you have effectively closed off the romance options with the other love interest. (Telepathy, I guess.) So, for instance, you could tell Miranda in ME3 that you want to continue the romance when you first meet her, but then lock-in with Ashley. This will turn off the ability to lock-in with Miranda, but will have no effect on her survival, nor much effect on the dialogues. A Tali romance is the most interesting possibility. Do not call Tali up to your cabin after first meeting her. Rather, do the dreadnaught mission with both Ashley and Tali. You will get one of the best cat-fights in ME. Then you can ask Tali up to the cabin and friend zone her, or wait to lock-in Ash before calling Tali up to the cabin. With Jack, you either have to friend zone her, or wait to meet her at the bar only after locking-in with Ash.

Oh, one other thing, no matter what you do, when you first meet Ash/Miranda/Tali/Jack, but before the lock-in dialogue, lead them to believe you are still interested, even it you are not. That is a question that will be settled by who you lock-in with.

1. As long as you're super nice to her you and don't lock in another romance you can pick up a romance with her in ME3. Word from the wise, don't mention Horizon as that ends romance options with her.

2. I don't know the full ramifications of breaking it off with each LI from ME2, but for the most part it seems to just put them back on the normal dialogue path. If you're that worried I'd look up the LI you're interested in and see if anything is mentioned about breaking it off.
