And the lore said years before that Quarians were closest to humans in cosmetic appearance, including having hair. So I think a lot of people ignored the hints.

Whoa, when was this revealed? I've never heard anything about it.

In one of the books a Quarian is unmasked. He is described IIRC as having lips, teeth, two eyes with eyelids and bone structure similar to humans. The description of Quarians is deliberately vague, but fans who wanted them to resemble humans seized on it as evidence that they were very human in appearance. Of course they were ignorning that the vague description could also have been used for the Asari or the Drell, two species who while humanoid would never be mistaken for human.

The truth is that Bioware never settled on an appearance for Quarians until ME3, and prior to that there were a couple different concepts that varied from very human to at least as alien in appearance as the Drell.

I am not sure about the other LIs, but Shepard and Tali are implied to have slept togeather more than just at the end of ME2 and ME3 (and in the Citadel DLC). For one thing Tali mentions that she had completely adapted to Shepard and no longer gets sick when with him, which couldn't have happened just after the one time in ME2. Another is there are two points that feel imply that, as the fade to black at the end of the scene where Shepard invites Tali up to his cabin when she shows up again in ME3 seems telling. The second is in a version of events where you side with the quarians, in which Javik comments that Tali is probably going to "reward you [Shepard] with a mating ritual"

Yeah, it makes sense that the characters would have been intimate more than once. The plot probably stretches over several months. Even if the length of the story is much shorter than that, at the minimum it has to stretch over weeks.

We are only seeing small snippets of these characters lives. They obviously have more than five or six conversations during that time, and spend time with each other beyond what is portrayed on screen. The parts we see are just the parts that are relevant to the story...like any other work of fiction really.

It's truly annoying when Liara refers to a faithful Shepard as "friend", every time she called me that I have to check on youtube to see if there's an error in my game lol. I have to double check in that lock-in scene because I thought the game is treating the Liara romance as a new romance. Anyway, the first time during the time-capsule scene it is kind of okay she called you a friend because she probably do not want to broadcast their romance into the entire galaxy so she restrained herself there. The second time in Citadel she probably just said that to tease you, the way she kind of playfully responds afterwards suggested that. I'm making those excuses to make them sort of logical, but they are badly written and there's no excuse there. The final love scene and conversation is good though, especially when she says "I love you" for being faithful.

I think what really frustrates me is how easy those scenes could be fixed, just two extra lines for Ali Hillis, in the time capsule scene she could say "you've been an important part of me", in the Citadel scene she could say "I wish we could spend more time like this, just... lovers" and then Shepard sort of proposed to her about spending the rest of his life with him, it's very fitting IMO. And it's not like they didn't create different versions of dialogues, they just need a tiny extra amount of work to make the faithful carried over romance as good as Garrus' or Tali's.

And to the original question, I think it's obvious LI sleeps with Shepard frequently if they are part of the squad. I don't need to game to tell me that to fill that part in.

The citadel lock in scene makes even less sense if you introduce her to her father as it is implied you are in a long term relationship of which atheyta approves (tge noone messes with my girl back and forth) and also the following conversation about peeling her out of her uniform.
That certainly implies they get down to it on a regular basis so the subsequent having to reconfirm again is daft.
Especially as all they had to do was have liara say that she still wants more and give shep the option of just being friends (I.e. reverse the dialogue).

Actually it is a bit of a myth that Liara saying she loves Shepard (first) is linked to whether or not she was the sole LI through all three games. It does require that Liara was the LI in ME1. But you can get that scene even if you had a different LI in ME2 so long as LotSB is played after the Suicide Mission and so long as Shepard breaks up with the ME2 LI either in ME2 or the first available opportunity in ME3.

Just noticed Wrex makes comments about you and Liara when you talk to him in the war room after rescuing Eve, which implies its common knowledge you are getting it on.

Even though you still have to lock it in.

lol yeah, that annoyed with one import (an ME1 Liara/ME2 Jack romance). I had just done Grissom and had Jack jumping in Shep's arms... only to have Wrex makes those comments a little later. Way to bring me down, Wrex.

What he goes on about Liara being a good kisser if you don't romance in 2 and don't try to carry on in 3?
That's stupid.

Yeah, that's the line. He didn't get the memo, I guess.

Even though me and Jack brought Grunt to Wrex for his rite. A little happy family. =]

*Not entirely serious btw. I don't expect the writers to have the same sense of nostalgia as me.*

If it's really that bad, I take back what I said. I only speak from the perspective of non-romanced. I figured since she had many lines, I thought it was positive (I romanced Jack btw.. so you'll see where I'm coming from. She's barely in the game).

The problem is Bio ware tried to write Liara as Shepards main friend/advisor but this meant that the romance was put on a back burner. It's why you'll find that the vast majority of the scenes with Liara are the same regardless of whether or not you're romancing her.

This is exactly why I was so disappointed with the Liara romance when I finally got around to it. I didn't feel like her content was any different than it was for my Sheps who romanced Kaidan, Garrus, or Tali. For the longest time I wondered if it was even active.
