A lot of people get a sense of accomplishment out of it.  I personally loathe soloing though.  I have done a few Silver solos grinding for weekend challenges, and I thought they were ridiculously tedious.  This week, I finally tried to do a Gold solo.  Every single one ended up with a Banshee teleporting through a wall and grabbing me or a Geth stunlock-fest in which I wasted almost all my medigel.  The last one, I tried to go down the back ladder in front of the LZ on Giant and got hung up on cover, then Banshee synced.  It was Wave 7 or 8, and I had used only one medigel and no other consumables.  All that work for nothing.  I can barely carve out an hour to play a couple of days a week, and wasting all that time soloing just kills me.  No more.

Rofl, yeah, sorry Shadohz, I had you telling me that it's an e-peen feature and I had dumdum telling me it was the best way to get better at the game. I guess I fell victim to temptation =(

Absolutely, if I haven't used up all my consumables while screaming and running away from Banshees then I would be happy to play together =)

Ohh, yes I recognize the tag you have in your signature. If I'm not mistaken 3 or us joined that game at the end of wave 1. I was having some great lag in that one, sometimes I wondered why my flamer didn't do any damage to the enemies, and you guys always made Banshees block powers so my flamer did no damage at all to them most of the time =p

Can't remember if I did well or not, was too busy surviving I guess. But please, send me a friend request so that we can play more together =)

EDIT: Ahh, nat in the hat is your tag on XBL? You were the host in that one right? Remember you had your weapons maxed out and I was feeling a bit jealous about that =p

They hated me for a long time, they were very jealous of my rank (I'm the highest ranked player in the world), I had to school them and put them in their place.

Took me like 200hrs before I attempted Gold solos. Congrats, OP!

Now, I just do Gold Solos without thinkin' about it. Prefer small maps to solo on.

Took me about 800 hrs to finally solo gold, but then again it was like letting a monkey drive the school bus. I've got better since and don't panic and Im more confident, so I've done it a few times since.

Lol, to be honest the first gold solo that I did was not meant to be a solo at all. I created my own lobby and sat there for like 15 minutes until I said "screw this, they can join game in session". Turned out no one joined and I ended up with a completed gold solo. So after I got the first one done and I realized that I could do it then it just felt like I might as well give it a try again =)

And I'm actually starting to feel quite comfortable on gold now even though I still prefer silver, and I hope that we get the chance to play together soon =)
