We play as a tank born clone made from shepards DNA.
Were found in a long abandoned cerberus facility... only one active pod remains... the cerberus symbol displayed proudly on the wall... a team enters searching through the base and its records... one of them walks to the pod and reads a nearby datapad...  turning to the others.. shocked... we understand only one word... "Shepard!"...

The Camera zooms into the pod and we are given options to customize the way he/she looks... also... he/she wouldnt have sheps memories.. so we would be given a fresh start.. a  true blank slate for a personality.

This would satisfy those wanting a connection to shepard... and satisfy those wanting a new character... this is the storyline i want.. but who knows... i thought the clone in mass effect 3 was a clue to what might come next... not just for fun...

Its like a cross between Grunt and Javik... tell me what you think...

We already played a Shepard clone in ME2 and ME3 so this has already being done.

Then we might as well not play as Shepard, because all he/she has in common with the Shepard that we know is the name and, perhaps, the voice.

No.

Im tired of being a space-god.

I want to not be a human.

I want to create my own status as space-god.

I think it's time for us to try something new.

I wouldn't mind if they decided to do this. I loved playing as Shepard, but if they do decide to get rid of Shepard and give us a new main character I'll be fine with that too as long as they're interesting. If they do try something new I would like to have race selection. Maybe have four races to choose from like DAI.

I can go with that.
Also, I would like to have more Batarians

That is a really good idea but I've come to live with the fact that Shepard is dead. I quite liked the idea of living under the shadow of Shepard's glory as there child and having to live up to the great standards he or she set.

Another idea I had was the next game could take place on Earth during the Reaper invasion and you played as an Alliance Marine under the command of Anderson desperately fighting the Reapers while Shepard gathers the civilizations of the galaxy. I felt like the ending setting on Earth in Mass Effect 3 was a bit lack luster I expected a massive military campaign to retake Earth not just hey look the Reapers just so happened to be attacking London and that is how we can get to the Crucible, Oh and look Andersons here wow that is such a coincidence.

Well, the Lazarus Shepard has all of Shepard's memories so that's something quite different. I find OP's argument - that he only care's about Shepard's DNA - to be utterly bemusing; you'd be fine with a random dude if and only if you're told that he's a clone of Shepard?

I dont think its a good idea. We had one shepard and we had a clone shepard. Getting another one seems excessive plus I would really like to see what they do next without shepard as the main. To have shepard in game they could simply rig up some kind of cameo like they have done before.

I thought so too. It seemed like heavy foreshadowing.

I don't know what to believe. I'm kind of pessimistic that we won't get it.

Shepards head was almost intact because it was protected by helmet when it was recovered by the team according to illusive man`s diary videos. So it is not a clone. Some parts of the body might been reconstructed from shepard dna, but it still doesnt make it a clone.

I don't understand this obsession with playing as Shep again. Shep's story arc is done, bring in a fresh new character.

I think that some people still don't believe that.

No, shepard story with the reapers is done, but there is many to come.^_^

Even stargazer says, that "ok, one more story", indicates that shepard had other big adventure after reapers.

Shepard was so awesome, no point invent new character when you already have a good one, expecially if they can get back the same voice actor as in reaper trilogy.

Maybe the next protagonist could be one of those Angry orphans that Garrus was talking about.

Now, would this also somehow bring his companions back? Because, otherwise, this is pointless.

Nah. Shepard would struggle dealing with his memories, his implanted memories. All very sad. Liara would probably still be around, in a relationship with a Quarian grifter I'm sure.

Here's how I think Shepard should show up in MENext, as a tombstone. One that says s/he died at the very beginning of ME2, and that BioWare has really just been pranking us since 2010.

i dont mean an exact copy of shepard... i just assumed cerberus would want to make supersoldiers... using the galaxys best human... Shepard. so i thought there may be a cell operating somewhere on this project. makes sense right...? theres no connection to shepard except the dna your created from.. like grunt.. you would see images but wouldnt feel any connection.. this way it wouldnt be shepard 2.0 but a different person completely... it would satisfy those wanting shep in someway and those wanting someone new... only problem is for those wanting to be an alien...
